After 2 low level Romulans who are both Fed Allied i am not quite sure what i missed on Klingon side. One thing thats totally underwhelming are the Fed Uniforms. Only a few variations of the same style, no chance to wear Fed uniforms, even the Mirror universe uniforms.
I wonder if the Klingon-Romulans have more choices? And can i select all KDF races as BOffs? I have only Access to KDF fleets?
Yeah rom-KDF gets to do most of the KDF story, and can sneak into most KDF missions by being teamed with an actual KDF player. They get to use Orions and Gorn, etc.... as boffs and doffs, and are stuck with KDF fleets, and they get access to Qonos.
As for better? KDF doff missions seem to be somewhat more rewarding than Fed.

This is an understatement. As a KDF ally you can do marauding missions, which reward contraband, which you can turn in for dilithium. You also get surprising amount of item loot from marauding missions, so that also amounts to quite a bit of EC when you unload a full inventory. So the Doff loot factor is a major pro. On the other hand, a major con, if you like the foundry, is that the vast majority of foundry mission are Fed faction, meaning a KDF allied Rom can't do them.

Do not forget XPs.
"Suppress Gorn Uprising" missions under Tactical or Current Map. Eta Eridani Sector Blocks and sometimes in Gamma Orionis (the Borg one).
It's part of my daily DOFF routine on top of Solanae Sphere (Solanae isn't faction-based that much). This is how I get good chunks of XPs on my KDF/KDF-Rom.
There's also the Vandal Destroyer, which is a single 1000 Zen purchase to unlock Plasmonic Leech for every KDF or KDF-allied character on the account (plus a T3 ship besides). For Fed-side characters, the console goes for 40 million or more on the Exchange, per character.

+1 this. This solely explains the single most valuable option open to KDF Romulans. Build a vape ship, build a leech ship, build a leeching vaper! And don't forget those tricksy Aceton Assimilators, too! Suck the life right out of your enemies (and/or irradiate them to death) while sitting back under your cloak and giggling in a slightly sinister fashion...
Jeera D'Voth T'Kaillian, Rihannsu and ally of the United Federation of Planets, Commander of the R.R.W. Susse-Thrai and Fleet Admiral of the Romulan Republic
There is also the satisfaction of not only being the red-headed stepchild, but also being a good friend of the uncle that everyone tries to forget about (you know, the awesome, fun-loving one that all the boring people ignore).
Rom-Kdf really do have a couple things they can brag about. Easy access to the best boff traits (priate & SRO), valdore console + leech for the whole account, vastly superior doffing, and honestly a way better allied uniform (but that's up to taste;)).
Not to say the're no downsides. Since you're joining the kdf you're (in)offical hated by the devs. Most faction specific queued stuff is complete dead, unless it's cross faction don't bother pugging, it won't start. And the fleet situiation is also not that great on the red side. Most fleets are side projects for fed mainers to park their farming toon in, so project progress is pretty low in general.

Let's show those damn number crunchers in their offices who's boss.:D
There's less faction-specific maps per faction. I used to lament how hard it is to get get Federation Minefield and Big Dig going (I haven't done Big Dig since the days STO launched). But after playing Fed some, theirs is pretty slow too. SB24 pops up here and there but Gorn Minefield is kind of dead.
Most of the game is Cross-Faction queues anyways so it doesn't matter.
Beign Non-Fed though traditionally brings 2 very major issues:
1. KDF/KDF-aligned versions of items in the exchange tend to be pricier. The playerbase is smaller so there's less of these kinds of things dropping, coming out of opened lockboxes.
2. Cryptic typically hates developing ships for Non-Feds. Rom-oriented players a few months ago have now realized this and understand how the KDF have felt. We are both in the same umbrella.
However, ever since the Anniversary Event, we have been gaining faction ships that included all 3 factions.
3 Command FDCs for each faction
Iconic Ships: Galaxy, Negh'Var, D'Deridex
I'd like to see this trend continue for all factions to get ships when a faction ship comes out. This is what Cryptic should have always done since the game launched but for too long new ships were "for Feds only." KDF for instance had a 2 year gap before it got an endgame ship in the C-Store. It was 2 years in between the Bortasqu' and the Mogh Battlecruisers. Hell, we still don't have the Fleet version of the T5 Guramba Siege Destroyer. Anyways, very recently they've bucked that trend but we'll see if that continues.
One thing I love on my Fed-allied is the fact that i can use the promotional T-5 Ambassador class given out last year, That alone makes me want a Fed-allied rommy, considering I hate the singularity cores, they are under-powered. I know this is only for accounts that have unlocked the promotion, but it gives me something to look forward to other than under-powered, over-taxed (energy wise), and over-sized ships, with a fancy cloak and fancy abilities that take a while of combat before they are really effective (unless you have a Dheal). I know there are cross faction ships that all have warp cores but I prefer Fed-Rom-KDF designs.
Big downside is that you can't use an allied ship past level 40 but you can fly any number of alien ships freely and you need a tier 5 shipyard to get any of the fleet ships - T5 anyway. I never even bothered looking at the T6s. I am quite happy with the Breen T5Us.

Wow.
First, I'd like to congratulate you for coming out of your Fed shell.
Unfortunately, as far as "extras" are concerned, the KDF is lacking.
Most of the game's development/resources have been focused on Fed-play and it 's VERY obvious when you go to the tailor...or the CStore.
That being said though, Redside is still more fulfilling.
In spite of the aforementioned bias.
If you know what the Leech console is, you get it for FREE for any and all KDF aligned toons you create (if you buy the T3 Vandal, of course).
As a Rommie, that means alot.
Choose the Redside, at least this one time.
NO to ARC RIP KDF and PvP 2014-07-17 Season 9.5 - Death by Dev
- Plasmonic Leech (one-time 1000 zen Vandal ship) for all KDF and Rom-KDF
- Better doff missions. Execute your bound white doffs for incompetence or as mutineers! Pillage ships and colonies! Blackmail sector governors! Pile up a mountain of contraband!
Not yet mentioned:
- Orion bikini squad for your away team (if you want)
Another Doff perk that the KDF enjoys is incredibly easy access to Prisoner Doffs from Marauding missions.
Romulan Captains have a harder time milking prisoners for CXP via interrogation, because you default to having a Ship's Counselor mission contact instead of a Brig Officer, but you can still leverage your Prisoners into GPL by selling them to Orions, into dilithium by shipping them off to penal colonies in various sector blocks (this has a better success rate than turning them in to your faction's Security Officer, since it takes fewer Prisoners and therefore stacks up fewer red traits per assignment), or use them to recruit good Doffs through prisoner exchange assignments.
On my KDF-aligned toons, refilling my brig as quickly as I can send the old Prisoners out is as important as keeping a fresh supply of Colonists coming in.
For Romulans alignment hear are my pros and cons. (I am assuming that you are going to for the Max Character.) To be honest, I am thinking that all my Romulan Alts going forward should be Kling.
Fed Pros:
Exchange Doffs are Less Expensive/Can Be Had. (Kling Marions, Advance Warfare Officers, Con Officers that reduce Attack Patterns the Kling Zemok.)
Easier Teams for Epohh Tagging/Fleet Alerts.
More Fleets have Tier V Starbases or Higher Starbases for the Elite Drone Ships for your Scim.
Fed Cons:
Have to Buy a Plasmonic Leach for every alt.
Kling Pros:
DOFF System Much Better. Marauding generates tons of Contraband and Loot. Also Bridge Officers drop more often.
Since the community is smaller but more passionate, you can sometimes make more money on faction specific items.
"Free" Plasmonic Leach for all your alts if you purchase the $10 ship.
Nausican Bridge Officers if you don't have all Superior Romulan Operatives
Cons:
Teaming
Finding a Highend Fleet
Kronos is a Maze.
I came back to the game after a long break, I rolled a KDF-ROM toon (playable romulans were not in when i quit) wen i got that toon to 40ish they started the Delta recruit thing, so i rolled a Fed-ROM Delta.
For me I think I like the KDF alliance better, first is aesthetics the KDF-ROM uniform looks way better. Second is the Marauding BOFF missions, those are awesome.
My mistake is I did not read up on the factions ships I "assumed" that all fed ships would be available to me, and since my "main" was fed and i had purchased the Galaxy-X a long time ago i could use it with my Fed-Rom-Delta..... Nope... Dammit.
I made a KDF-Rom-Delta that I plan on doing it all over with....

It's fun to mess with metrics I say.
