I only count 1 (one) of these threads.

As do I. Very strange, that.

I'm with worffan101. If I may add, reading other (positive) opinions is actually kinda fun.

    "Something positive" threads aren't negative.

And sometimes they make me think of "Something*Positive", and that's generally a good thing.

I see them as extremely negative. They're presented a challenge to find something positive to say about something...ie...the item in question is so overwhelmingly saturated with negative things, one must challenge themselves to find something positive to say.

Why? Because the person that started the thread thought on the other hand it would be very easy to say stuff negative...

...they're very negative threads, imho. They're not a case of trying to find some good in a bad situation. They're picking on something...mocking it...c'mon, guys...lol, let's talk about what a nice personality she has even though we all know she got hit by a Mack truck after falling out of the ugly tree while hitting every branch on the way down!

As opposed to something like, "What I liked about..." and it's just a case of discussing things liked, without any of the massive negative backdrop that the something positive challenges are set against.

Some of the 'something positive' threads have descended into negativity and confrontation about items that forumgoers found positive, but that is possible of any thread on a public forum, sadly. The issue noted that some of the openers are framed that the issue in question is negative and seems to be built to inspire confrontation.

This includes this one, incidentally. :)

I don't think the idea is bad, being a celebration of the strengths and joys we find in our shared fandom.
