Hello everyone,
I have a general question about shields. First take a look at this link. See the description for the Delta Alliance Shield Array? on the right side, under where it says "Unimatrix shielding" it says: "On hit: 10% chance +5% Shield Hardness for 15sec, can stack three times"
My question is this: does Shield Hardness = Damage Resistance??
Or does it mean you have less damage bleed-through?
I just want to have a better understanding because there are a few other space/ground abilities that refer to shield hardness.

I believe that "shield hardness" is shield damage resistance (the same kind of damage resistance you get from increasing shield power or use of EPtS).
I wish Cryptic would stick with the same language in describing features/functions. I didn't know what armor penetration was for the longest until I found a single tooltip that listed it as a damage resistance debuff to the target.
The only dumb ? regarding this shield array, is why does it have 2 10% energy weapon based DR?
10% vs all energy weapons and, 10% vs polaron?
Something seems out of place, like they totally goofed on its description.
The wiki doesn't state it but, in game the array shows it, at least it did last time I checked on it.
That's rather common, actually. It's present on the at least Nukara, M.A.C.O. and Dyson shields. What it means is 10% resist to all energy types, and an additional 10% vs polaron.
