Well, they've raised the level cap to 60. A lot of the T5 ships can be upgraded for a modest amount of zen.

The latest expansion had us exploring the Delta Quadrant and fighting the Vaadwaur.

Oh, and the Iconians are finally invading. About time.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

I'm trying to return also but can't get Arc to run ... It is good to see that some things don't change ...

Probably the best advice I can give is to create a new character on the 2nd as a Delta Recruit and ease yourself into the changes.. especially because of the level 50-60 leveling curve/wall.

Probably the movie "the way back", where they travel 4,000 miles by foot, sums it up entirely:
They face freezing nights, lack of food and water, mosquitoes, an endless desert, the Himalayas, and moral questions of when to leave someone behind.

It's basically a death march grind out there, we've lost a lot of good men

Pick your favorite toon and begin the long road to 60 and the specialization system. Then wait until later this week and start a new Delta Recruitment toon so you can see the new missions and get the promo rewards for your primary.

The biggest change is that playing a bunch of alts is not really feasible anymore. There's now 150+ levels of increase per character available and growing (although only 115 levels can be exposed at one time), much more in line with other MMO games' end game progression. If you aren't a power player, you likely won't be able to keep up with more than one toon, so it's best to pick your favorite and work him up, and use your alts for special events like the Crystalline Catastrophe one that just finished.

They launched a new game this week that pulled in a lot of players to ARC, so it had some issues. You absolutely don't need Arc to launch the game, so just bypass it by running the launcher manually when it has problems.
