A brief discussion with friends and the DOFFJOBs channel got me thinking. Wouldn't it be nice if owning a space set unlocked the parts as material, light and accessory choices in the ship customizer without needing to have those parts equipped?
For example, complete Nukara set would allow you to pick the Material (the Shield graphic), Deflector or Impulse trails, without needing to have any of those parts equipped. Letting you use the appearance of sets you like, without compromision performance if they happen to be subpar for your ship or build.
As almost all Reputation space sets have special material, impulse trails and deflectors, it would work highly similarly to the ground unlock. Complete the set, get the costume.
Sorry if this was suggested before, I didn't see it on the last couple pages when I clicked through. But I also have somewhere to be at the time of writing this, so a tad rushed.
essentially the representation of a character is just a costume/skin anyways, 1 for space maps and 1 for ground maps, so id like to think this wouldnt be too hard a thing to implement. would be great having the ability to save a look in the shipyard tailor with your sets equiped, then be able to switch to it when the set wasnt. then again working with old code can sometimes be as strange as working with old laws -
some of it make sense, some of it doesnt, and some of it only applies in certain places, at certain times, while wearing the correct shoes, and carrying a goose under your arm.
would be nice to get a little feedback on this either way
