Experimental Proton Weapon.

Are we ever going to see a development of this for other damage types or would the neat little ability to function as a beam/cannon for too OP or whatever if applied to the numerous damage types?

Would anybody want it?

I think a decent DPS-levelled version would be a good R&D crafting project.

    Then why would anyone want the EPW other than for the set bonus at all...well it is kinda like that now I suppose unless one has a DSD Proton build.

    Last thing we need is a AP version of this...using BO then CRF on you with the same weapon...no thanks.

    I have a tac in an Advanced DSD proton build, and it works quite nicely. (or at least it did before the most recent patch, i have yet to check and see how the 'fix' borked it.)

    The trick to getting some serious damage out of the experimental proton weapon is you have to drop a lot of those wierd dyson consoles onto it--each one boosts the proton damage,

    Without the EPW though, the comparative value of the dyson consoles comes into question as each does a little bit less of the same thing othert consoles do, plus a boost to the EPW.

    Well technically right now we have the reverse where one power can use both beams and cannons (surgical strikes) I don't see them making anything other than different AP weapons at this point.

    They wouldn't do that for an AP version of EPW. It'd get torpedo skills as well.

    Nah...next event they will probably have a AP version of the EPW, But with probably either higher damage or arc of a beam array or even a Omni...that way AP users can throw 4 360 degree weapons on those pesky ships with 4 rear weapons! >.<
