Did I just accidentally hear a Dev's skype call?

So I'm sitting at Nopada base in the new FE and I'm picking up what sounds to be a voice chat with some guy talking about contract extensions and how he wants assurances in writing that he won't be laid off. Some stuff about renewals not being picked up. He didn't seem very happy about whatever situation was going on. At first I thought it was a popup in the background but traced its source to STO's game client and found that I could adjust the volume in the controls interface. I listened in for a few min and found it very weird.
Could I have accidentally overhear someone from Cryptic discussing inter office communication?
Why would it be bleeding into my game? If so then maybe someone should look into why it happened so we don't overhear personal stuff again.

**edit** Turns out someone in my fleet was making a skype to phone number call.... not even online to online. He wasn't on my team, he wasn't even logged onto a character in our fleet at the time. so maybe theres something up with skype and the game client?

    Are you for real? Is this what you actually heard? It doesn't even make much sense that something like this could actually be possible. But...

    By any chance, was your in-game voice chat enabled in the options menu? I seem to recall that when this feature first made it into the game, people could overhear ads playing in-game.

    I heard the same thing and it was all about how season 11 will be all kdf faction content.
    Plus how the new bop will have a vorpal console that gives vorpal effect to all weapons.
    Should I start posting again after all this time?

    Check the box "disable voice chat" in the options menu.

    I"m not starting a thread to be like OMG guyz the game is DOOOOMED. I HERD A DEV SEZ IT LOL AM LAGIT! I'm just trying to let someone know that somehow I overheard a conversation I wasn't supposed to hear and didn't WANT to hear while playing the game. if some wires got crossed somehow then I'm letting them know so they can fix it. I'm providing a generalization of the conversation so that someone at cryptic can maybe find out what program was being used to find out where the interference came from. it was a weird glitch.

    You probably heard a guy of your team speaking of whatever he was speaking of.

    Unless a dev specifically wanted YOU to hear that, I don't see why you would.

    I wasn't on a team. I was solo in the new FE. It was a one sided conversation, I could only hear what this man was saying.
    But you know what, it doesn't matter. I came here and did what I intended to do. this thread does not require discussion or comment. It's there. I let someone know. now it's up to cryptic to decide what to do with it. I don't really give a $hit one way or another.

    or this wasnt someone from cryptic talking on skype whilst leaving STO VOIP open...this doesnt mean its a devv from STO, but if it is...good luck buddy getting that in wiritng, your all expendable apprently... xD

    If this thread gets deleted and swept under the carpet then all hell will break loose xD

    yup. instead of hearing a dev talking about contracts and option renewals, I just heard a fleetmate who sat on his mic button apparently. still not sure how I ended up hearing it though. Fleetmates need to not be playing STO at work. If i'd just heard him ordering a pizza instead of business related things I wouldn't have thought anything of it.
