I am looking for a fleet to join for my Federation aligned Romulan character, but have been having difficulty finding the correct match. In particular, the fleet credits I earn I actually want to spend... Now! Not after meeting someone's quota. For some reason some fleets seem to think people will be happy contributing to fleet projects earning fleet credits that they do not have permission to use in their stores! One fleet had a quota of earning a minimum of a quarter of a million fleet credits to earn with their alliance before you could be promoted to have the privilege of spending them. All of their fleet projects need only dilithium. Since fleet credits are one to one for dilithium donated, at an average of earning 2500 dilithium per day that would be 100 days before you are promoted!!!
My main desire for being in a fleet is to be able to upgrade my ships and personnel with the superior goods offered by the fleet stores. I am also happy to go to battle with my fleet-mates against the NPC ground and space foes. I am not looking for a job (this is my leisure time) or for servitude with no rewards. I don't role play, but tell an occasional joke and have been known to throw smoke bombs at the goofy people looking for attention in the space stations.
If your fleet sounds like a good match for me, please let me know.

Honestly I can see where your coming from and it annoyed me too when I first joined my fleet. I learned the reason why there was that quota to meet when I rose through the ranks
Fleets have a finite number of provisions and the quota was to prevent new players entering the fleet, clearing out the stores and then leaving (which had happened in the past before its introduction). After I learned that I understood completely and have explained it to new members on multiple times. It's sad to see when they immediately sign out but if people aren't willing to provide for the fleet and prove you can be trusted then why should we open up our finite stores?
In Directive 10, we have a 30 day probation period where you're unable to purchase from the fleet stores, but once you are past that, our stores are open. Doing it this way means we are able to balance out the need to protect our fleet stores/provisions from those unsavory types who fleet-hop to get the shineys, with allowing casual players the ability to use the stores. We're a fabulous casual fleet, with just enough organization to prevent chaos from reigning. Check us out at http://directive010.com/
