The Equip window

Hi guys is there anyway whatsoever to disable the equip window when changing equipment load outs on you're ships. I'm finding this window to be really annoying esp now it seems to be enlarged for some reason. I can reduce it but if i close character screen and go back in its back to the new large size.
I find it just gets in the way.

Dev's any chance of adding this option if there is none. I don't want to use it or see it pop up.
