I started watching Stargate last night and on the third episode of SG-1, a big plothole came into place which was how the young Goa'uld was able to go into Kawalsky and almost completely take him over where as Teal'c has had his for a long time and is completely fine. Can you explain this to me Worffan?

Teal'c's isn't attached to his brain. It's a fairly important plot point in season 4's "Crossroads" that under normal circumstances a Jaffa and his Goa'uld larva cannot communicate.

Yeah.
Jaffa are gengineered living incubators for Goa'uld larvae. The larvae aren't able to take over a human host yet (and Jaffa are also canonically established to be immune to Goa'uld infestation--System Lords can't have rivals piloting their offspring's incubators away randomly, after all). Also, Kawalsky's Goa'uld wasn't fully mature (as evidenced by the incomplete control and unusual headaches, etc. that he suffered).
Short version: Teal'c has a juvie Goa'uld in an incubator pouch in his abdomen. It's not in contact with his nervous system and couldn't hijack it anyway. Kawalsky had an adolescent Goa'uld attached to his brainstem. That's why Kawalsky got taken over and Teal'c doesn't.
