This is what I truly would love to see in the Future of the Game

I know there must be hundreds if not thousands of these threads but these were my thoughts when the poll on the facebook page was closed. In fact most of this is exactly what I said on the facebook page "poll thread" but longer and more refined. Some of this is a rant in some spots, but the rest of this are ideas I've had over the years that I think would make the game better. Not that I expect to receive feedback or expect to see anything I list here, but this is what I would like to see in the future of Star Trek Online. I understand that the game must grow in content to keep people coming back.

First off, please reopen all the "Unexplored Regions" of space to explore rather than have it as DOFF assignments. You know the Nebulas, Expances, Clusters, Belts, arms, etc etc etc. Those "unexplored" areas are a good way for people to level up without having to play the same missions over and over again. They are a good place to build up resources for R&D projects. That is how I was able to level up without anyone's help the first couple months I started playing in 2012. I would also like to see Memory Alpha reopened. Even though we have this brand spanking new R&D system, Memory-Alpha can still have a purpose of being a place where people can congregate. It can still have a purpose besides being an area of closed off space.

Now to my biggest peeve since the initial months of the launching of "Delta Rising." I was not happy at all when the bulk of Romulan Missions were just thrown out. Some of them I really liked where as others I simply used to help level up. I understand that you muust add things to the game to keep people coming back to play it, like I said before, but when it comes to story missions please just leave them alone! Nothing is more infuriating then going to bed one night with all the previous Romulan missions queued only to find out 2 days later they were all taken off the game and the ones you did have completed you have to drop cause you cant turn them in. Same applies to the Undine missions, with it being turned to fleet action queues or being combined with Borg missions. I do however like that 192 Unrefined Dilithium has been added to the missions, meaning if one plays through all 87-90 missions they have the chance of getting about 17300 Dilithium.

Which leads me to my next peeve. If you take missions away from the game, or combine missions to the game please make sure the Game timeline is in one solid line. I understand that one has to play all 3 races to get the full effect of the timeline, But if someone who comes back to playing the game after a year or so, plays "Empress Sela" with mentions of the Romulan Republic, they are going to think there is a big hole in the game timeline. At least update the Data-Recorder and try to get Zachary Quinto to narrate the new files. Or simply get rid of characters like Admiral Zelle if we are unable to do particular missions that deal wit that particular character.

As for content, I personally would love to see more creepy missions like "What Lies Beneath" added to the game in future expansion packs. I love - LOVE replaying that mission because it reminds me of Classic DOOM and Unreal and Unreal 2 which can be rather creepy when playing in the darkness at night. Some may say there are other DOOM-Creepy like levels but I think "What Lies Beneath" is the closest to it. Someone who knows I love "WLB" because of that reason suggested I try that foundry mission "Hearts and ..." so I tried it, It wasnt creepy at all :( It was fun to do, but it wasnt creepy. I would also like to see maybe other oppritunites to getting Borg Neural Processors besides the Elite STFs or the Deferi Invasion missions if they are offered there. I dont know how many the Advanced or Elite STFs reward but would it be possible to have one or 2 rewarded in the normal STFs and even the daily Sector Block Defense queues? Maybe during the missions that deal with the Borg or Borg tech having the processors a pack of 5-15 processors as an reward depending on the difficulty the player has their account set on. Or even have one or 2 processors as drop items like with the Voth, Undine, and Delta drop items. These are just 3 ideas that I am tossing out there.

One thing I would like to see come back more often rather then every other month to 3 months is the "Junior Officer Particle Hunt" at Starfleet/Klingon Academies, like every weekend or every other weekend. I would also like to see the "Stablize Omega Particles" every weekend or every other weekend, and not become a seasonal thing, or yearly thing. I am sure there are some who agree with me on this while other disagree with me.

In the future of the game, if someone reaches the Diplomatic Rank of Ambassador, could more places become more available to explore? For example, a Federation player going to worlds deep in Klingon Territory, Qo'nos etc etc etc. I would like to see in the future other key races and planets in the game, such as the Sona', Krenim, Baku' (both race and Planet which can be a summer destination or a place to go to like Risa), the Gamma Quadrent which some say is already on its way to us, the Nexus, Veridian III (where one can pay homage to James T. Kirk or scower the remains of the Enterprise-D), even explore worlds and systems within the Klingon Empire, Romulan Republic (that are not part of the Daily New Romulus Sector Patrol), and other sectors. Being able to visit some spots on the moon or other locations in the Solar System even visiting the Jupiter Station or even the Utopia Shipyards whenever you wanted would be nice in the future.

One thing I think would be awesome, is if during the Mirror Invasion event one of the prizes was a Mirror BOFF, whether it were Terran, Romulan, Klingon, Cardassian, Vulcan etc etc etc. Over the years we have seen all the Terran ships become available to us in the game, is the Terran Odyssey ever going to become available? For the ships, I love the pure sexyness of the new Romulan battlecruisers, the Federation ships even though I am going to get them anyway are "meh" to me and I just flat out dont like the Klingon ships. But in the future if it is possible, could you revamp the Odyssey Class and make it the Federation flagship class it is? Now some people may say why, it is great the way it is and I would agree with them. But I think that if we have all three Odysseys and all 3 of their consoles on one ship then we should be able to not only launch the Chevron and send it into battle but launch the Aquarius. Personally I also think that not only would it be sweet to have another weapon slot added to the foreweapons while maintaining the 4 aft slots, but maybe incorporate a hanger bay that launches combatable yachts. For ship interiors I think they should look more 25th Century then 23rd or 24th. However I would love to see interiors and bridges that match the NX-01, NCC-1701 Refit/A, the Reliant, Grissom, Hikaru Sulu's Excelsior, NCC-1701-B, and NCC-1701-C. There should be bridges and interiors that match those ships, like the Bridge and Interior you get when purchasing the "TOS discount Pack."

I am glad that those of us who primarally play Federation toons can change the appearance and clothes of the Romulans we get from the Fleet Embassy. Even though the Bajoran ridges were taken away from my Fleet Romulan which made her special to me :'(, I would like to be able to dress her and my Reman in the Federation-Romulan hybrid uniform or even and of the Reman Nemesis uniform. As mainly a Federation character, I would even like to be able to modify the appreance and outfits of my Jem Hadar, Reman, Breen, and Voth. I even think that if we have a an "Exchange Officer" for after hitting Ambassador, then we should be able to dress them not only in Klingon attire but Federation attire too. One question regarding this subject why is it when I go to alter my Romulan's outfit it has the Flotilla uniform for the uniform that greets you, when you cant apply to the Romulan character themself? Will those uniforms be available to Federation-Romulan BOFFs? I also noticed that the Jem' Hadar, Breen, and Voth have a distinct transporter pattern like the Romulans and Klingons, I think it would be nice that regardless of what faction you are if you have a Breen, he has the same pattern as the rest of the Breen of the game for example.

More transwarp destinations would be nice, like transwarp to Drozana, Memory Alpha if it is reopened, Gamma Orionis once you have already been there, and even to the Captain's Table for those of us who have the lifetime subscription. Especially the Captain's Table, that way if we start new Romulan characters that spot can be available to us regardless of their rank. For the seasonal events, it would be nice if they actually lasted the entire season. Like the Summer Event, having it start on a date that coincides with the Memorial Day weekend or the Official first day of Summer-June 21st and coincide with the last official day of Summer which if I am not mistaken is September 21st and not middle to late August. The same would apply with the Winter Event too, having it run from the around the beginning of December to the last official day of Winter.

Lastly please stop making the game such a grueling grind or solely about DPS. We understand that the reputation systems are suppose to be grinds that they are, but everything else doesn't have to be. It was a grueling grind as it was to Fleet Admiral, having to replay missions over and over again while doing DOFF assignments to make rank, it just got frustrating after a while. And the DPS situation? It seems that this game is becoming nothing more then a pissing contest on who can pump out the most DPS pardon my language, and taking it too seriously then rather have fun, which all games are meant to be played.

This is all I can think of at the moment, I am going to leave you with this before I think of anything else. But I do hope that the executive team of this fantastic game does consider some of what I have mentioned in this thread. But if anyone else disagrees with these ideas please do so but keep it civil.
