My shield facing value was just under 15k per facing previously. Noticed after logging on a few minutes ago while outside ESD it has dropped to 9.5k, the base value of my shield. Its not getting the bonus from my deflector array or other set abilities..
Definitely noticing something weird when I remove my exotic particle field exciter. My shields are at 9.5k (should be 14.4k). Removing the console flashes the shield value to 14.4k, then goes back down to 9.5k.
I'm already nigh unkillable at ~7k max shields. who needs ridiculous numbers like 15k?

No, nothing to do with specialisation. My MK XIV Elite fleet shield has a value of 9.5k, but my deflector and various set bonuses increase shield HP upto 14.9K but that is not happening. Seems to be a bug. I have posted this in the bug report forum.
Just logged in and yes, shields are reporting base values. Hopefully it is just a display bug and not actual, cus running CC is not going to be fun with those numbers....
Don't worry, it'll get a timely fix ... if you consider 7 days to be timely, cause it won't be fixed until next thursday, even if they fix it internally today.
I came in here, expecting this to just be bull; but no, 7k indeed (should have been 15k). I also unslotted like my crafted Field Exciter (+25% Shield Capacity, amongst other things), and nada: no effect at all. No other field boosting console, either.
Make sure you're checking in system space, not on the ground or sector space. The game's wonky like that.
Heh, the game is wonky in a fun way right now...your shield capacity while on Ground with nothing applying is your shield capacity while in Normal Space where everything should be applying.
In combat I noticed no difference. Slotting unslotting exciter made no change to my stated stats.

Actually looks like a tooltip issue. Number bounces back and forth between the Ground and Normal Space numbers while in combat (including reflecting the damage they've taken)...but they didn't drop any faster visually as if they had a lower capacity than they normally did.
edit: Lol, it's kind of sad that I could just sit there in CCA watching shields like that while parked inside 3km of the Entity while not really paying much attention to anything else other than spamming things, keeping the range, and watching numbers.

It seems I'm notcing this too, my ships' shields are reporting base values in the ship equipment window (in Crystalline Cataclysm), and I am noticing it's a bit harder to keep shields up than it was just yesterday, could be that I'm taking more fire, but it could be weaker shields too...

Yeah, my Aegis with skills and gear should be sitting around 17k and now it's at 10k. Uh, wth Cryptic? If this is just a display issue I have no problems. If not, fix it now. This is a big issue and not some "we don't take the servers down for any kind of bugs becuase it will be fixed next thursday" bull TRIBBLE excuse.
Not so sure it is just a display error. Just finished a FFA and my shields are depleting like crazy. Did one yesterday and only the boss did noticeable damage. Same character/ship/setup.
So I'll say it is actual and will hopefully be addressed asap.

Resolved an issue which was causing any Trait granted by the Specialization Tree to be available regardless of being slotted or not.
If the stats in the ship tab is to be believed then I too am down by around 3k in shield strength.

This is most certainly a problem that NEEDS to be addressed as soon as possible. Us SCI vessel people are very concerned.
