Instead, I've noticed that the problem is when people use lots of abilities at once in an instance, like in ISA when the leader says "go" and then everyone turns on everything they need for their alpha strikes.
In other words, people who know how to play the game well seem to experience more problems. People who are like "Maybe I'll use a boff ability? Nah, I'll save them for when I really need them" probably experience almost no lag so this whole discussion is foreign to them.
It's definitely tied into the use of abilities. Usually alpha doesn't get used in ISA until you're heading over to the 1st transformer, and that's when it starts to get reeeeeally bad... then when spheres appear, it's all kinds of rubbery badness.
I don't have the same problem if I pug. It's only in runs with people that use all their abilities.
Clearly they added some bad code with the anniversary and UI updates that they haven't been able to fix.
"You are the first and only person" I might add that claims to be lag free...
I wouldn't be to fast to the answer, many fleetmates, myself included can play the game lag free...
The I only times I experience lag, is when there are many people connected to my network, and or when I'm using my normal ISP. Otherwise, when I run on my hotspot, Verizon 4G LTE, I'm lag free
