A while ago I wrote a story called Lockboxes for a literary challenge. You can find it
here. I was honestly pretty proud of that, in spite of no one having beta read the thing.
So, just for shifts and tribbles, I wrote a "sequel".

Though be advised that Lockboxes is a tough act to follow.

Captain xXK1LL3RM0NK3YXx@p1card1701 sighed loudly on the bridge. Today just wasn't one of those days. He had ordered the USS
420GANJAW33D420 to try to boldly go a place where no one had gone before, but it just wasn't happening. Indeed, some cryptic anomaly had altered his perfect world, and he found that the Delta Volanis cluster had somehow collapsed to a tiny sector of space that he, for some reason, couldn't enter.
Upon retrospect, however, the Delta Volanis cluster was the place where just about everyone had gone before...
Nevertheless, the USS
420GANJAW33D420 flew around aimlessly, looking for something to do, when the ship's comm officer chimed in.
"We're receiving a hail, Captain."
"From who?" xXK1LL3RM0NK3YXx@p1card1701 asked.
"The USS
01001010asdawawr." the officer struggled to pronounce the name (indeed, it took him nearly a whole minute to get it correct), but xXK1LL3RM0NK3YXx@p1card1701 silently commended the young officer for his efforts. Speaking Klingon was definitely easier...
"Alright, let's hear it." xXK1LL3RM0NK3YXx@p1card1701 said.
The ship's viewscreen didn't turn on, but an unsettling, disturbingly robotic voice had answered him. It definitely was human, but had a robotic quality that was unsettling; not even Soong-type androids were like this.
"W W W . T E E PAL . C O M FREE JEM HADAR $40/DIL..."
xXK1LL3RM0NK3YXx@p1card1701 gave the "kill" gesture to his comms officer, who gladly obeyed the command.
"What do you suppose that was about?" Elisa Flores asked him.
"...I have no idea." xXK1LL3RM0NK3YXx@p1card1701 replied. "Let's just ignore it, that thing gives me the creeps."
The USS
420GANJAW33D420 sailed onward, closely followed by the
01001010asdawawr. It wouldn't stop following the
420GANJAW33D420. xXK1LL3RM0NK3YXx@p1card1701 was quickly losing his patience, and attempts to get the captain to silence himself was very much fighting a losing battle.
"W W W . T E E PAL . C O M FREE..."
"Can we lock phasers on that thing?!" xXK1LL3RM0NK3YXx@p1card1701, aggravated beyond belief, was down to the wire.
"I have phaser lock, captain, but the option to fire is greyed out!" the tactical officer bemoaned.
"Ughhh..." groaned xXK1LL3RM0NK3YXx@p1card1701.
It was then that Elisa Flores chimed in with a good idea.
"Captain, we're relatively close to Klingon space. Perhaps we could drop our friend off in front of a hostile Bird of Prey!"
"Brilliant idea!" xXK1LL3RM0NK3YXx@p1card1701 applauded. "Start scanning for the nearest hostile Klingon vessel!"
"Doesn't the Federation have a ceasefire with the Klingons, or something?" the tactical officer asked.
"Not really, just look at what goes on in the Ker'rat system." xXK1LL3RM0NK3YXx@p1card1701 shuddered at the thought.
Finding a hostile bird of prey didn't take long. The crew breathed a sigh of relief as the USS
01001010asdawawr continued blaring its messages - not for long!
"Open hailing frequencies to the enemy!" xXK1LL3RM0NK3YXx@p1card1701 couldn't believe that he said those words with a smile.
"Hailing frequencies open!"
"W W W . M M O C H E W . C O M GALOR..." announced the IKS
