Is odd that they've got the DCs out there but no Turrets. Not odd that they don't have DHCs, they like to do stuff like that with the DCs; but it is odd there are no Turrets to go with the DCs.
Then again, they've got a few things like that where it's not complete. Would be nifty if they offered everything they offer in the various types. Where they offer just Arrays and either DHCs or DCs, but not both DHCs and DCs nor Turrets nor DBBs. Hrmm...can definitely be irritating for some of the various flavors out there - like it's a tease.
The Array, DBB, and DCs are VR Mk XII [Acc][CrtH][Dmg]...
...and there's no matching AP Turret with those mods. The matching DHC is listed at 5m cheapest.
Course, if one really wanted those mods...you can get a Mk II DHC for 3k EC and upgrade it and the Turrets are under 20k.
Mk II [CrtD]x3 Turrets on the other hand are up ~10m while the DHCs are ~8m. Dropping a [CrtD] for [Pen] will drop you to ~2-2.5m for the DHCs and there's no Turret listed.
Oh, there's an Epic Mk XIV [Ac/Dm][CrtD]x4 Turret going for 121.5m there...
The Epic Mk XIV [Ac/Dm][CrtD]x3[Pen] DHC's only ~40m...
...while the G14 [Ac/Dm][CrtD]x4 is going for 110m.
On a lark, and since they were so cheap on the exchange, I tried AP DCs on a Kumari once.
They felt like I had set my weapon power to 15 compared to my phaser DHCs. It wasn't just the difference between the console grades I threw in, comparing them to a wet noodle would be an insult to the noodle.
This is my Risian Corvette. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
Cryptic should just make Antiproton the official weapon type of the game.
All current weapon types should be instantly converted to AP, torps and all!
The viability of any other weapon type next to AP is a farce. All mods being the same AP wins hands down every time.
That's not necessarily true. It's true in specific instances and with certain builds, but it's not really a blanket thing. And well, c'mon, how much of the move from Rom Plas to AP was because of Doping, eh?
It's a scenario thing though, is what I'm getting at. If folks are doing Activity X, then definitely there is going to the AP thing. If folks aren't though, then AP's not necessarily going to be the thing, right? Somebody with 6-8% CrtH on a Sci/Eng isn't going to get the same out of them as a Tac with 20%+ CrtH...along those lines.
Course, the Rom Plas is going to take it in the crapper with the planned changes to [Pla]...meh.
That's only for the higher performing builds/players, no?
People who can't manage to overcap or otherwise offset drain would get 10 more power with the Experimental RomPlas Array, which may well tip them over compared to AP.

All mods being the same, AP still has an extra CritD, which is still only helpful if you're stacking up the CritH, so for the average player, your words are nonsense. Afterall:

Plenty on the Exchange...
Listed started in the millions...

Yeah that quests hands out AP DHC.
Perhaps as a drop, or using a dev cheat code.
The only AP drops I've ever gotten have been the consoles.

Why are you not rejoicing?
Them, as in many, many, many, attempts to get usable mods. So much "easier" than running a mission to get one with serviceable mods...
