great idea for r&d

i dont no about every one else but i love the new emitter arrays , and my idea is to add them to the to the beam crafting,

or a new add on so we all can craft diffrent types of emitter arrays ,

i think its about time we add somthing new to the classic weapons

emitter arrays are good idea

beam cannons

dual beam cannons

ship crafting would also be cool

rail guns would also be a good idea

ship pet crafting

also i think adding new types of energy weapons to the classic weapons would be awesome
you guys have been making the and mixing the same energy type for 5 years dont you think its time for some new ones.

    I kinda agree that being able to find or aquire some new R&D designs would be nice, most of all new pets for both space an ground maybe as their own school/tree. Kinda always thought of being able to make a lance-like beam array (kinda like the galaxy X version) yet made in more of a mass production stand point, which would give beams a forth catagory rounding out the beam to cannon ratio (three beam type weapon catagories to the four cannon type catagoriess). This could be made to have a single large damage hit with a longer cd along with either a narrower firing arc (or taking up more than one weapon slot maybe to off-set the disparity in damage).

    Another thing I was thinking of was with the rep based weapon energy types, like romuian plasma or thoron based ones, and that maybe add a component that can be bought/obtained via the rep project system. Which can then be used in either the upgrade system or R&D system to give that modification to other weapons, such as making a omni-directional romulan or thoron beam array for example. Though making the component exclusive to being used on certain weapon energy types would fit, like the romulan for example only being usable with plasma or the thoron being only usable with the polaron.

    My other ideas was making maybe consoles or mods for weapons making the weapon function differently when used with high-yeild/beam-overload/cannon-rapidfire or torp-spread/fire-at-will/cannon-spread like how the romulan or omega torps work. This i thought was a great feature of those rep items the idea of seeing that huge swarm of torps going at a target, or a single comparitively huge torp flying at you was really nice for looks an veriety. An with this new crafting system allowing the players to add such traits/effects to the weapons to further personalize thier ship combat would be nice.
