These seem to be very low resolution. This isn't really a problem inside ESD (for example) since most surfaces are rather "busy" and break up the low res reflection map, but when looking outside a window it's more apparent.

Before i shout "fix it", is there a way to increase the resolution via an ingame option or other work around?

Likely not. And there isn't much of a way to "fix it" on my end either. We use Cubemaps, which use 6 images to create a bubble of reflection in all directions. However, those are pretty expensive, and as you mentioned, it's not usually very noticeable, so those 6 images tend to be 256x256. Making them larger would only marginally improve the look, and only on those few objects that use the max res of the cubemap. But it would be a bigger hit to graphics cards all the time. So. . . likely no fix.

We could reduce the glare on the window, maybe that would suffice?

Maybe? I don't know how strong the glare should be when the light source is this steeply angled towards a transparent surface. You're the environmental artist. If it doesn't look good, then i'll just make a mental note, that it can't be done any other way.
