With everyone who just bought the command ships before the sale they did this with the intel ships as well. Did everyone have collective amnesia about it? Also unless you are brand new to the game and didn't know of ship sales (which is understandable) is one thing but anyone else not knowing is just silly.

Well...yeah. It's always been the rule that new ships were excluded from ship sales. It looks like that's no longer the case now.

One of the PWE guys gave a reasoning why. When the ships came out there was a 15% extra Zen bonus, so if you bought your Zen strategically, you would have been saving money.

They've never had sales on ships that were just released a couple weeks before the sale.

I don't recall the intel ships being on sale a week after they came out.

They were during the Black Friday sale as was the Pathfinder that had only been released a couple of weeks before.

The Galaxy Bundle was released with a 20% sale.

Well, I'd gripe about having paid full price for my command bundle earlier ... but given I used it with the zen I purchased at 15% off, I'm not complaining.

Devs, question: Does that free upgrade token cover Fleet ships as well? I currently have a T5U Atrox carrier that I'd love to upgrade to a Fleet version ... but I don't really want to purchase both a fleet token AND an upgrade token to do so :P

P.S: It's possible that Fleet ships *already* get that free upgrade to T5U automatically if you owned the basic ship, but I'd rather not dump money on it to 'test' ;)

I am a free player, but purchased Zen, 6050, taking advantage of the previous sale & that First Time Buyers' Package.

I have three characters: a Fed, a KDF, & a Rom all being tactical & they are all now in the early 50s.

I was seeking advice about which ships to possibly purchase for each character given this current sale.

For my Fed I was debating whether: the Assault Cruiser Refit which has two special features Avenger Battle Cruiser, Patrol Escort Refit which also has two special features, or the Multi-Vector Advanced Escort. I have been piloting escorts, currently Patrol, while leveling.

For my KDF I was deciding between: the B'rel Bird-of-Prey Retrofit or the Mogh Battle Cruiser. I have been piloting Birds-of-Prey mostly & really wish there was a better version of that Hegh'ta which is my current ship alas there is not.

For my Rom I was thinking: the Ar'Kif Tactical Carrier Retrofit having a hanger, but as with all the others I am open to suggestions. Not much selection while leveling-up, but my current ship is the good ship Ha'feh.

With this current ship sale the sale comes with a free ship upgrade which just adds to the value.

I had a question about that though, if/when I purchase my ship(s) should I immediately add the free ship upgrade or wait till I earn the Fleet version(s) then add the upgrade?

I would not want to add the upgrade, buy the Fleet version, to only have to add another upgrade that would cost ... is my thinking.

Also, with any ship(s) I buy I want them to be Fleet upgradable one day with one module not more.

Thank you for any & all suggestions about which ships are still currently good to play for PvE & would be a good investment.

SO much for buying a Command Ship like 2 days ago... a little "thank you first shoppers" would be nice...

If you haven't learned it by now, all sales start on patch day. If it's not patch day, wait and see first.

Or, better yet, never buy anything from the CStore that isn't on sale. Eventually everything goes on sale.

    /FACEDESK

    Talk about bad luck.

A few days before the weekend Lobi store sale I bought a Wells uniform at full price from the Lobi store.

A few days ago I bought 1 fleet ship module to get a fleet ship on 1 character and a couple days ago I bought 4 fleet ship modules to get a fleet ship on another character. :(

It's probably because my birthday was Friday the 13th this month (and I happen to have been born on a Friday).

But I'm gonna just blame Iconians. Because......aliens! :P

I own fleet ships on almost all characters. Not a single one can be upgraded for free. However, if you upgrade the c-store version you can upgrade the fleet version for free and vice versa. Not sure if that's per character or account wide since fleet ships are single character unlocks. Edit: Correction. My fleet veteran ship can be upgraded for free but that's one of the special exceptions.

To my understanding only T5 c-store ships give you a free upgrade token per ship purchased for this promotion.

    All characters. It's account-wide.

    Thanks for the insights.

I just wanted to make sure I understand.

(1)If buying a ship right now with the free upgrade it is better to wait on using it TILL I get it's fleet version?

(2)Or if I upgrade now would the future fleet version already give me an upgraded fleet version?

Thanks again to anyone that knows!

If you buy a T5 ship and use the upgrade, you can get the Fleet version of that ship later on and the upgrade cost will be free. Or you can wait and use the upgrade on the fleet ship and the T5 version will have a free upgrade for any other character on that account that picks that particular ship.

You still have to go to a Ship Selection Officer and select the upgrade option either way, but there will be no cost involved in you already upgraded one or the other previously.

Thank you, ixionveridian, I understand better now. I was petrified of using the free upgrade that was included with the T5 purchase to only have to purchase another Upgrade later for a Fleet version. Time to log-in & Upgrade my ships to T5U then saving-up till I can afford Fleet versions. Thanks again to all. Good luck & good hunting.
