How to get more power levels?

Where the heck is people getting all these power levels from?

I constantly hear of people flying around with max weapons, max aux, about 80 shields and almost that in engines.

Where are they getting so many points to move around?

Plasmonic Leech + flow caps, Drake/Dragon builds, Supremacy trait, Rep consoles, Skill points, Warp cores, ship innate bonuses, Some deflectors, engines, and shields, all grant power levels.
    SCM - Crystal C. (S) - [00:12] DMG(DPS) - @jarvisandalfred: 8.63M(713.16K) - Fed Sci

    SCM - Hive (S) - [02:31] DMG(DPS) - @jarvisandalfred: 30.62M(204.66K) - Fed Sci

    Tacs are overrated.

Easiest way, goes without saying most science builds need not apply.

Science build just need to have high aux and decent flow caps and cycle Energy Siphon

A pair of Emergency Power To <subsystem> powers, plus the Plasmonic Leech with a very high Flow Capacitor skill will do it on most ships. Some traits, and various rep consoles will push it even further, and if you're doing a drain build Energy Siphon will let you run 125 across the board, but those are more build- and money-specific.

Sadly, many of the best builds, especially for Science, requires purchasing consoles or duty officers in the exchange far beyond the reach of mortal men :P

I've been playing off and on for a few years. With investing in moderately decent gear, and leveling rep, I have yet to breech the 1 million EC mark.

Plasmonic Leech = 40 million last I checked.

lots of pieces of gear add power. Most of the reputation consoles add a bit, and as mentioned leech is awesome, best 1000 zen youll ever spend since its once for all toons (not fed). Two of the consoles add power to ALL systems, about 2 for each, so that is 16 power across the board.

Your captain tree has multiple power boosting areas. There is one for low systems, one for all systems, and 4 more (1 for each system).

Efficient officers help but are not necessary (I can hit max/75/75/75 on a rom without this...).

IF you do not have access to leech, one of the borg rep shields serves as a proxy -- when being shot, it gives power. Another trick is to use siphon (science skill) to overcome it. Finally, both command and intel trees provide power boosting tricks. And there are other power level stuff from bridge officers (power to X system) and I think a couple of active duty officers can do power related tricks.

And with all that, you can also aux 2 bat which dumps all your aux power into the other systems and with the right active officers also cools down all your skills much faster. I don't like the build and many ships can't seat it, but its there if you like.

leech requires flow caps, at least get the 100 from your captain spec skills. siphon also works better with FC.

how can you not break 1 million ec? After a patrol i can vender the items for almost 200k, some items like tactical consoles can certainly get you over 1 million ec.

Back on topic, most of the reasons have been said by one person or another some of which are easily obtainable like the energy siphon ability, even with just 6-9 points in flow caps captain skill
many of the mentioned methods can be very beneficial. The intel ability Override subsystem safeties is a big help at level 3 its +50 increase to cap and +50 to energy to all subsystems for 20 sec which will degrade over that time but adds a nice power boost across the board

A2b is popular, red matter capacitor is good, emergency power abilities and CD reductions...

They have gone down quite a bit. I picked one up the other day for just under 30M. Still pricey, but I remember seeing them get over 50M+ just a couple months ago.

As others said, through traits and BoFF Powers you can get pretty high levels. Plasmonic Leech is a nice luxury to have, but by no means required. Cycling Emergency powers, maxing skills like Warp Core Potential and taking Warp Theorist and other traits will push your levels pretty high by themselves. Thinks like the Leech just help push it even higher.

Honestly, as much as I like the Leech, it's highly overrated. It's becoming less and less necessary.
    Insert witty signature line here.

just killing stuff at 60 and selling the junk to a vendor I easily make 1-2 million a night. If you focused on it you would have a leech in a month roughly, maybe less.

It is not necessary. I have one fed and he did without it until very recently without any real problems.
