The video.

Hmm...I was not expecting this, and I don't really know what to make of it. Good professional quality, I can give it that. It is kind of like Power Rangers done by Quentin Tarantino, I guess. Certainly a lot more violent and world weary than your childhood's campy Power Rangers.

At first I thought that fan movie that made the crowdfunding rounds last year was finally getting released.

From your description I expected something closer to the Japanese source shows. Some of the clips I've watched of that on youtube, in addition to being insane on levels Power Rangers never imagines, can get pretty brutal by comparison. They also featured a talking motorcyle and a guy who looked so much like Hitler I spent an afternoon sifting through Google translated wikis trying to figure out who he was.

That's something closer to a Kickass or Watchmen treatment than I'd expect of Tarantino. I mean, yeah, Tarantino likes his bloodbaths, but he also likes his bright colors and campy visuals - his version I imagine would look closer to the actual show than this (except for the whole part where he scars a generation of viewers worse than The Brave Little Toaster ever could).
