So my main, Terrell, is a Federation Engineer. I got the Kobali BOFF from "Dust to Dust" but noticed that it seems to be confused to which faction it's in. All my other Delta Rising BOFFS i.e. the Hierarchy potato fellow use the blue transporter beam yet the Kobali uses the KDF red beam?
Is this a random glitch for me, or is it one of those "features" that we all know Cryptic like to drop in. If it's just me, would dismissing the BOFF and reclaiming it in the mission a second time fix the issue?

Yeah, transporter effects in general are messed up in the way that they go by the faction of each individual boff instead of by the faction you're actually playing. It is really freaking annoying and makes no sense at all. Even less so with the newer boffs which don't know which faction they are. (The Starfleet Kobali boff is one example. The KDF Hierarchy boff also thinks it's a Starfleet boff, or at least did on Tribble.)
It'd make a lot more sense if transporter effects for our boffs all went by the main character's faction. (And it'd make even more sense if transporter effects went by the ship we're flying, e.g., Dominion transporter effects if we're flying a bugship.)
Well yes, the transporter effect depends on the boff. Except when it doesn't. Certain map features can override it. For example, the transporter pads on New Romulus use your faction instead of the boff's faction.
Of course logically the transporter effect should be based on the transporter being used, not the user's faction or species. So, Romulan effects for the Romulan transporter pads on New Romulus, Federration effects for the Federation transporter pad on ESD, Klingon effect on Qo'nos...and whatever effect matches your ship when using the ship's transporters.
But it is funny when you combine all three faction colors in your away team.
Unless they did something about it, the transporter effect is the only thing Klingon this BOFF have when played by a KDF character. Otherwise, he wears the Fed uniform.
