I had this idea where we could make players happy. We could have a DS9 FE where ships come through the warm hole from different sectors and talk about how they are being taken over. We would have story and DS9 game play fucused on sectors and who has what arears.
At the end go to a new area just for PVP where we have vendors and a place to dock your ship. DS9 is a good area to have this and make it a center for PVP. The vendors would have items for PVP that would help you and your team out.
DS9 could be remade with new arears and have ships docking just like in the show
poll was clear ....sto playerbase is antisocial and wants singleplayer content .Also wants more money invested in servers for that singleplayer content cuz we all know you can't play a singleplayer game without a server running on the other side of the planet.
1) They apparently don't know how to add things into the PvP queues?
2) The vast majority of STO's population is so horribly averse to PvP that they simply won't do it. They won't compromise. They want to play it their way.

Wrong ,that is the current few pve players....the majority of people who play mmos/video games are after pvp...they are not in STO because ...well this game is antisocial in design ,but if you make pvp in sto those 1000 people from the poll will leave (amen to that) and we will get thousands more .
Most played games on the planet are those with pvp...from Eve online to TF2 ,Call of duty ,war thunder ,world of tanks....name any pvp game and you will find it at the top of most played games .What those games dont have is a antisocial design and 1000 antisocial fanboys.
This has to be the first game made for 1000 people...they blocked the star trek ip for 1000 people who need a server running to play singleplayer content...boggles the mind and anyone with a IQ over 5 should be insulted by this whole thing.
server lag in a singleplayer game should be like a sign that hey something or someone is stupid.

I challenge that claim. I think PvP is just a thing you can do in many MMOs, and so people do it.
But that a majority is in it for explicitely that purpose? I doubt it. I would even say: "Citation Needed"*.
For myself - I never started playing any games - including MMOs - for the purpose of PvP. And certainly not Star Trek Online.
I happened to end up liking PvP a lot. For a while at least, but as more broken TRIBBLE got piled up, I started to give up on it.

top 10 games on steam are pvp games .The majority of people on this planet are competitive by something called human nature.Everyone seeks "pvp" ....except antisocial animals that live underground and go outside just for food leftovers....rest of creatures on earth are very comptitive.

Because competitiveness is a sign of being social?
And look at this:

Garry's mod = all play multiplayers mods...guess you dont know what Garry's mod is
Football manager = team vs team ...check the streams.
Skyrim = exception that confirms the rule ...at the hour you checked
go check again and try harder next time.STO is still TRIBBLE and pve players are still very antisocial .Like i said most played games today are pvp games.Singleplayer games are great if they are triple A titles and work offline.
Guess what birdie. You are kind of right. Like 10% right...on a good day.
Yes, a good deal of people (I don't think you or I can say majority) enjoy being competitive. What you fail so hard to understand is there is more then one way to be competitive.
For some it could be using the same ships, weapons, and tactics (basing this off my time in queued pvp) on the same maps to do the same thing.
For others it could be doing "time trials" in missions, looking to beat the time of themselves and their fleetmates.
For even more it is a being competitive is like a walk in a park.
From what I have seen some pvpers are somewhat limited in their thinking. Change that and whole worlds of competition is open to you.

Below is F2P form the year before. (Side note notice how SWTOR a PvE oriented game w/like Brand recognition had more $ investment on the front end less blatant power creep made double what this product sold for in a year, ie you get what you pay for).
Notice EvE made nearly double what this product sold for w/slapped on PvE.
Really it's amazing to me people still support a game that has as many long standing bugs, absurd balancing/power creep, and last but not least mind numbing grind fest.
Edit: Don't get me started on the Star Citizen and the $ given to them in a kickstarter. Imagine regardless of PvE or PvP slant how much better this game would've been w/that type of funding stream rather than grind fest & "Micro" transaction/lotto store.
Edit2: Another irony being League of Legends/Dota 2 both inspired by Mods from ******** 3. These clowns would never bother to develop their Map Mod software to allow for players to self generate PvP maps/scenarios despite that being request and the above pointed out to them @ that time.
Edit3: Why was WwArCrAaFfTt edited? It's just an old game.

I will be your citation I have to say he is right on one respect if this was not Star Trek or had the banner of Star Trek or flu the banner of Star Trek I would not be here. Plain and simple but as far as MMO's go yes I do check and see how the PVP is before I decide to play a game because after all the PVe content I relish ...NAY deliciously consume the thought that as I blow someone up or cut their legs off with the light saber or shoot them with my M-16, THEY ARE having that freak out moment on the other side of the monitor with the punch the monitor and jump outa windows moment .... Priceless.... And if you the benefit of voice chat their oh so colorful language is just cherry on top

Here's where the $ has gone. A fair amount of PvP centric games. Including #1 if my eyes don't deceive me.
