Anyone else having problems with disconnects since the last patch? I haven't seen anything in the forums...

I've had a couple of disconnects so far. The servers need modernising and upgrading to cope better. It would be a miracle if cryptic did this, and just for once, took their minds off raking in the cash.

Received 2 or 3 of these disconnects today.

The last one was right at the end of an Argala grind.

I got dc'd with the CE at 9%. By the time I logged back in it was dead and I didn't receive any awards. Awesome Sauce... :|

this is partly cryptics fault but its mostly verizon and cogent comunications they are still in disagreement and thus verizon is throttle cogent(the tier 1 that hosts cryptics servers aswell as youtube and netflix).

if your wanting this to stop well tough luck verizon wants alot of money that cogent will not give them.

Aha! I knew there was a reason others were having trouble with lag and rubberbanding, but I was not. I have Comcast, only problem I experience is a single disconnect roughly ten minutes after login, like clock work. No further disconnects, and certainly no lag or rubberbanding. That really sucks though.

Yeah I've been having 2-4 disconnects per day since the patch. Before then it was 1 every few days. UI lag is ruining me and rubberbanding is annoying.

The disconnects are a subtle hint from your computer that you should be doing something else.

Either that or it's the result of a dispute between Cryptic's ISP and the communication company that they use for their infrastructure. That's what happens when the "Two Tier Internet" plan breaks down. I'm glad I'm in a part of the world that doesn't allow ISPs to throttle traffic based on the money you pay to them.

Do you have proof outside of someone's personal BLOG.
Because, I don't count that the ultimate bible on why STO has disconnets.

The lag and disconnects started right a patch, don't see these two connected.

those affected can do a trace route during the event and see pings as high as 1000ms and the fact that this has been going on for a couple years on and off.

and it is very characteristic of Verizons business model

and im also not saying 100% is from that but a large portion of the current issues are the aniversery issues were mostly cryptics end.

It's not Star Trek Online unless you're repeatedly kicked Offline.

I've been having so many frequent disconnects. Every time I get a SNR (Server Not Responding) and then when it ends, either I get disconnected or several people on my friend list gets DCed, so i know it isn't my internet connection or my computer (laptop) itself. I have never had so many issues with connecting to STO before. It is very frustrating.

And right now as I type this, the launcher is taking forever to connect. Most of the time I disconnect, I either have trouble getting the client to connect, trying to get through the account server, the log in server, or my characters being loaded. It's really pathetic.

Not to mention the rubberbanding during gameplay.

i wanted to add there are two diffrent issues happening right now. the gameserver cryptics end hosted in los gatos.
and the login servers in boston being the issue between cogent and verizon.

if your getting disconnected in map change that is because of verizon

if your lagging in map during gameplay that is cryptics end.

discconects during gameplay can be from either issue.

It's kinda unfortunate that the 2 queues added for DR were "borg disconnected" and "bug hunt."

I can 100% verify it's not my internet. I'm playing on a commercial connection and have MTR running in the background just to verify there's no packet loss or latency.
