Photonic Kar'fi?

Would a Kar'fi with the Delta Deflector & Core (SciCdR/AMP), Bio-Neural Gel Pack, and Photonic Officer BOFF power (probably only level 2), and AHG Engine & Shield (2 Piece +5% to Cooldowns), & All Hands on Deck be likely to work well?

I can go through an Acadamy build with my full build thoughts if that's needed, though it's mostly I think it should be able to pretty constantly through Grav Wells and TS3s.

    It's an interesting idea. There's plenty of ways of reducing the CD of Science abilities these days. The issue I see is the use of the Delta Deflector which has no stat increases to Particle or Graviton Generator Skill to make your GW stronger in pull, pull area, and damage. But if you already have a means of reducing the cooldowns to spam them more... why not, I guess?

    But today, in between DOFFs, All Hands on Deck, gear, etc, that should be possible. All that stuff should reduce the CD of the concerned abilities to include Photonic Officer, which in turn reduces the CD of every BOFF ability.

    Even long ago there had been some guys theorizing on Photonic Officer builds. At the time the only thing with SciCdr was the Elite Fleet Deflectors which were truly, awfully, terrible in every possible role you need a Deflector for. It's been a very, very long time since I've seen any Photonic Officer build threads so I say go for it.

    The main problem I see is that Photonic Officer has a pretty high global cooldown at 2 minutes (according to STOWiki). I tired a dual Photonic Officer build a while back, and it was no where near as effective as even a single Aux2Batt build.

    Sci powers get knocked down pretty decently by All Hands on Deck, and the Kar'fi has enough Tac BOff slots to make a decent 5 second rotation build for maximum activation. If your main goal is maximum spam of Gravity Well 3, it shouldn't be too hard without any other Science cooldown reducers than that trait. Tac abilities are easy to knock down if you're a Tac with Tactical Iniative with All Hands on Deck, but a bit harder to pull of on other captain types. Eng is a sticky one, but with being able to use Sci Team for Shield heals effectively now, you could just use it for hull heals.

    Build wise, do note that the AKHG shield proc and Plasmonic Leech interfere with each other. I'd go with an Elite Fleet Hyper-Overcharged [w->a][amp] core (Dilithium Mine) since you seem to be shooting for more Aux power. There's also crafted deflectors that might get you better mods, though I don't think [Aux] is an option, and I'm not sure if [CdrS] or [CdrD] is the one that reduces Photonic Officer.

    I need to bring out my Fleet Kar'fi and try it out with the trait, but I'm playing around with the Battle Cruiser still, and am running into disconnect issues.
