Weapon Mods..

OK so for space the flavour of the month is Crit D . .

But what is the best mod for ground combat??

I'm trying to get a ground set up that will melt most if not all NPCs in game..

(BTW I hate swords etc)

I want cannon builds like phasers for Fed etc..

Can anyone help pls...

    My advice is to get a TR-116, with all crit boosts. Otherwise, get all Antiproton with CrtH. personally, I always use a Pulsewave for close range, and then a Sniper or Full Auto for longer range. But either way, if that Sniper is not Antiproton, then it needs to be a TR-116. No exceptions.

    Some CrtX or CrtH to go with CrtD seems good because you can't strap a set of Superior Romulan Ops and Fleet tac consoles to your body armor, so your base crit chance will be low.

    When crafting I've kept any mix of the Crt's without worrying about a "perfect" mix.

    Full Auto, High Density, Sniper all have their uses. One problem with sniper I've noticed is your boffs love to snipe distant targets, which can be annoying for some target-rich environments like Nimbus 3.

    One of my characters also has leveled up type 1 / type 2 from the Drozena time-travel arc (Night of the Comet, etc.) for the retro sound and nifty death effect.

    I've been messing around with the 3-piece KHG (Blood of the Warrior! Raaargh!) plus 2-piece Undine.

    KHG Armor, Shield, Pulsewave for the 3-piece bonus.
    Counter Command Kit + Rifle for the 2-piece bonus.

    (For you Starfleet types, the KHG set is the "Adapted MACO" set)

    So that gives me +2.5% to all damage, +2% CritH, +20% CritD from Blood of the Warrior... plus the 2-piece Undine bonus, which is +10% to Phasers/Disruptors, +5% CritH.

    I really like the KHG Pulsewave for the annoying Grenade Launcher. And the Counter Command Rifle also gives me more 'splosions.

    The only downside is the Undine Kit being Willx3, and not having other bonuses. To me, the extra Crit & +Disruptor damage is worth the trade.

    For ground weapons I generally tend to get [CritD]x2 [CrtH]. However, for pulsewave weapons I try to get [CritD]x3 if I can.
