What theme if any do you guys hope Smirk picks for #11 ?
The last one didn't seem all to popular... that being said it was Christmas and we all had plans n stuff.
I suggested something dealing with events back home in the Alpha Quadrant, maybe focused on member races of the Federation, Klingons, and Romulans a la sirboulevard's "Honor of Ferasa".
I've got a few fanfic ideas I could collaborate with somebody on for the Letheans.
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"
— Sabaton, "Great War"
With the playerbase looking for exploration content (according to the latest poll :P) why not a "Strange New Worlds" theme tied to our backyards? You know, all those Nebulas and Clusters we now have as Foundry doors that are largely unexplored.
The theme would be "Strange, New" so none of the existing races or politics would be the major focus. Give the players something fresh, fast, and fun to play - a little taste of what they are asking for exploration-wise (until a more permanent system is set up), while at the same time bringing attention to the Foundry.
Speaking as a player, I like the 'strange new world' idea. there was a Foundry mission called Bright new world, I think. I enjoyed it, and would like to see more like it.
If I may say, make your doors at the clusters.
"The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war."

Honor of Ferasa was comparatively easy since I was deliberately using a race that was a blank race (like the Letheans are as well). But its easier said than done. I had to construct an idea of cultural norms, lingquisitic euphemisms, and differentiate them from the Kzinti of whom they are totally not. And thats before the entire writing of the story for the plotline.
.. really? Ok, I have no idea what "Foundry" means, but about my desires, well I certainly would This post has been edited to remove inappropriate wording and filthy words ~~~ PWEEmergencyAutoBanBot
I think it'd be a shame to not have a challenge use the new Delta Quadrant assets, but I'd rather wait until we have doors in those sectors to set missions there.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
Seeing as the Devs have dumped a "bajillion" Kobali npcs on us... what something Kobali related?
I think I'll go stick my head in my ship's warp core. It'll be less painful, and I might even come to enjoy it.
Seriously, I am SO sick of having to help those sanctimonious, lying, hypocritical mind rapists it's not even funny.

How about a challenge that highlights the new foundry system;
Where we have to create a mission exploring a places' (a doorway in the foundry in sector space) history, setting, and relevance in the current STO universe. It could be a world, a nebula asteroid belt etc, any place is fair game as long as the doorway in the foundry is located in sector space.

Unless you specifically state that it's set either in another year or it's obviously pre-armistice (ref: any and all missions that speak of or show the Feds and Klinks as enemies), it's all in 2410.

True.... uhhh "Something after Surface Tension" then ? :P
In Temporal Ambassador, an alternate-timeline T'nae assists in the recovery of the Enterprise-C. She appears to still be on-board when the enterprise returns to Narendra III. What happened to this version of T'Nae?

I just assumed 'time guy' beamed anyone who wasn't supposed to go back off the Ent-C before it returned to Narendra. But it isn't stated one way or the other.

So, basically you're saying we should have a "freestyle". That's what I'm getting at.

Pick a minor race and write a story about them.

This is an outstanding idea.
Tell me more of your Foundry Desires?
The Smirk wishes to hear all ideas!

Defera / New Romulus / Nukara Prime / Drozana... one of the social / adventure zones ?
I.E. Are the Borg winning on Defera? Have the Undine blown it up?
Maybe the Tholians are playing with Mirror technology?
Kinda off-topic, but are we allowed to submit missions that were already under construction when the contest began?

Aslong as it's not published before the deadline.

I never said you had to "help" them. :P
Your avatar, I approve.
Lookie... they come in purple now!
Smirk... tell the mission dev guys.. P_Sutherland wants a blue Iconian.

Make a mission that's set in 2410?
As a canon junkie, I would love this one as well.
