If you want us to buy new ships, Buy Zen, Buy extra bank slots and so on and so on. All these things you keep shoving down our necks week in, week out.....
Then why not start fixing the hoard of bugs that are in the game ?
The game for the last god knows how long is nigh on unbareable to play due to lag issues.
I have just come from a Starbase Defense that was like a total slideshow for practically everyone involved. To the point where you have to click tray items a dozen times in the hope of activating them.
We don't want a club47 ! I mean what exactly is the point of this place ? It's serves 0 purpose ! Even after the fix to the Boff's removing themselves I find that they have still done so on 2 occasions ! But it's ok... I got club47 to bust some moves in ? Right ?
We have a whole new set of icons even though there was nothing wrong with the last ones ? Then point in that ?
Redoing old missions ? nobody really cares about that either ? So what is the point ?
I am sure that most of the userbase would far rather you spend a good couple of months simply "Fixing" bugs and glitches and dare I say it.... Exploits ?
When you have a relatively bug free, lag free game then go about adding content to it.
At that point I might also throw some hard earned cash your way. As it stands I simply don't feel the game is really worth giving money for. And I know for sure I am not the only one. And that makes me sad..... For the more people that start to think the same.... And eventually they will..... That is when the game will start to fade. Eventually to the point where it's not viable to keep working on it.
And I don't think any of us really want that.
I still have my 6 month Sub, but when that runs out in 3 months time, if things are still as they are now then sadly I will not renew.
I want to play... I want to buy things, but the game is becoming far to frustrating to play.
I am hoping something changes for the better sometime soon. And I "Hope" to still be playing, with my newly renewed sub in 3 months :-)
The people involved with creating C-Store content are not the same people involved with fixing problematic bugs. The only bugs that a ship designer can fix are bugs related to the look of the ship.
ESD was incomplete without having Club 47. It is supposed to be a place for where players unwind from doing some STF, No Win Scenario, or other area. In other words, an RP area. Just because you and others don't like it doesn't mean the rest of us don't like it.
The problem with the old icons was that they were abstract art. Some of the new icons are far clearer than what they are supposed to do.
The purpose of doing the old missions is to make them flow easier for new players. Also, lots of veterans will play the new missions to see how they have changed. Besides, it was a very small price to pay to get rid of the Divide et Impera mission.
As far as adding content after we get a relatively bug free, lag free game goes, it is not going to happen. Cryptic relies on new content for the game to continue existing. If Cryptic decides to stop all content to fix most of the problems it has, then all revenue would cease to exist for that period of time and the game would have to shut down. IMO, it will take over a year to fix most of the problems that STO has and STO can't survive for a year without C-Store sales.

What he said.
If Cryptic stopped putting out new lockboxes to fix bugs, I know my entertainment funds would go elsewhere then here.
I have to admit, while I'm no whale I've spent more money in STO over the last four and a half years than I'd like to admit. I have about half the Federation C-Store ships unlocked along with several KDF and Romulan ships plus lots of other little things I've gotten over the years (BOFF slots, ship slots etc etc). I subbed up until I hit my vet rewards, then felt no need to carry it on as I wasn't getting anything for it. My last Zen purchase was for the Pathfinder pack along with the Guardian, the only reason I got them was I love the Guardian (it's what the Galaxy should have been) and I wanted that Intrepid interior so damn bad, plus the ship looks kind of neat.
Now though, I've barely logged in. I struggle to summon the willpower to do the daily mission for the event. The queues still look fairly dead, and no I don't want to run ISE for about the 500th time considering we get fewer rewards than we ever did for it plus have the wonders of mandatory "optional" objectives. Seriously, Cryptic should look up the meaning of oxymoron!
I had a big rant in fleet chat today which wasn't particularly pretty (sorry fellow UFPers!) but this game has SO much potential but the people leading the development team seem to be completely inept and are doing everything in their power to make people not want to play the game.
Insane spec point grind - Check, "it's a feature" they say.
Longer STF's for lower rewards - Check
Fail most STF's because of "optional objectives" - Check
Can't play half the STF's because the queues are dead - Check
Lag so bad you can barely play - Check
We grind and grind away like faithful little sheep for little reward, and just when that laborious grind is done the devs release their latest great idea with yet another grind, although now something else required for this grind is nerfed so it takes longer.
Too much stick, not enough carrot.
You may be wondering why I'm still even following the game or trying to play it, and to be honest I can't tell you why. It's like I've developed some strange loyalty to it, like that mangy stray dog that you can't help but look after even though it bites you and gives you rabies.
Cryptic, take note of what I'm about to say! Lower the prices of these ships a little, they don't need to be £50. You may even find that by lowering your prices people will buy more, sometimes less is more. Also gives us a reason to WANT these items. Do something about the queues and stop nerfing xp gains so hard. If you want people to play it's a good start to make them not feel like they're being punished or be forced to play in a very particular way just to suit your all important metrics.

Once again we have someone who thinks his words matter and that he knows what we ALL want. You really should edit your post to say that YOU don't like the new rom missions and that YOU don't like club 47 and stop making it sound like we are going to agree with you. I for one think club 47 is neat and the new rom arc is well done. and yes while the lag and random disconnects are annoying they will settle down. get off your soap box and either play or don't....its your choice
Starbase defense has been lagging more than ever for some reason.
Yes, I too would be very happy if there's a focus on bug fixes, and some have indeed been (finally) fixed such as the console click abilities, and it's improved my gameplay enjoyment a whole lot.
Please leave Club47 out of this, or other incredible social areas like the new Risa, which expand the STO environment overall and gives the much needed contrast from the endless warzones.
I for one have zens on standby for Command Ship mega-bundle to go on sale (just like I did with Dyson mega-bundle), but it sure would be nice if the techs that keep changing the look of the UI would give more time to fixing the bugs that still exist under the fa
My game doesn't lag, but yours does. If this was something Cryptic could fix, would it not mean that it would be EVERYONE lagging all the time?
Everywhere I look, people are screaming about how bad Cryptic is.
What's my position?
That people should know what they're screaming about!

At the end of the day, Cryptic/PWE is a business. Businesses don't shut down because of minor inconveniences. And while we may find some things annoying, they are minor issues.
I don't understand why people think MMO's are some special snowflake. They exist for one reason, to get the money from your wallet into their hands. No different than your local grocery store, fast food joint, or cable company.

Pretty sure it involved keeping some employee(s) preoccupied; either the warm body zombies with perfect attendance or perhaps their newest (batch of) rookie dev(s).

I don't know any other genre where you're actually expected to pay regularly to continue playing.
I mean let's be honest, they're not in it for some box sales money; they're in it for Blizzard money, not that they'll ever come close to that, even with a solid IP.

Get over it. Grow up.
I'm hoping they're cutting underutilized problematic scripts that only complicate updates to other parts of the game.
Otherwise, it's just more busy work. Admittedly, their assessment that the older content isn't "up to par" is correct, if a bit rose tinted.
Yes, but that's not what the whales care about or want.
They'll never reach that point, even with a liberal interpretation of the word "relatively."

There are several factors involved. The time of day you play is one huge factor.
