Shields for the Manasa

I recently got the Manasa Vaadwaur Escort and and I'm deciding on the most appropriate shields to use on it, I asked Public services and they said Fleet Resilient.
I asked my fleet and they recommended against Fleet Gear altogether and advised me to use Nukara or Dyson shields and even said that I should avoid forum advise unless it's from Sarcasm Detector.

I don't know who I'm inclined to believe,
any advise?

i currently have the 3 piece Delta set on my Manasa for the defense bounuses since i am running a dodge build and it seems to work very Well for the Manasa and i am able to tank what hits me flee resilient is also a good choice btw grats on getting a Manasa very reliable escort.

I have the Nukara engine and shield 2pc set on mine. Nukara shields are resilient and just as good as the MACO shields.
Plus the 2pc bonus is a boost to weapon damage and helps with offline weapons too.

I want to throw the Aegis Shield into the mix, after the crafting update they got a nice bonus to have passive resists almost like secondary neutronium for your shield and can build up resistant against any energy type which stacks to 5 times. i don't remember how much but it is a considerable amount. It helps considering the limited console slots i have available, most of which are used for offense.

What are you building for on it? Elite Fleet Adaptive will give you the best capacity and hardening and still letting you 2-piece your deflector and engine. Nukara gives up some hardening (but not all of it) for improved offense from the weapon damage bonus. Dyson gives you TRIBBLE for hardening and capacity, but rapid regeneration and the potential Dyson set bonus. It all depends what you want to emphasize.

The current standard is Nukara Deflector, Romulan Engines, Nukara Shields. Pre-DR it was CC Deflector, Romulan Engines, Fleet Resilient Shields. The difference is actually minimal, and the latter set will have better survivability due to the superior shields.

It's true that not everybody in the forums know what they're talking about.

sarcasmdetector is one of the top DPS guys. woodwhity is another, and jarvisandalfred is the tanking guru. There's a few others around here, and they'll know their stuff.

VirusDancer isn't a DPS guy, but he's a crazy numbers guy who does lots of testing, so his statements about mechanics are highly likely to be backed by actual data.
