Faster than an Elite Fleet Warp Core?

prierinprierin Member Posts: 7 Arc User
So I was cruising around in semi-transwarp, thanks to my elite fleet core, feeling pretyt zippy when I noticed a little escort approach and pass me... it didn't appear to have the TW "bubble" and wasn't in the obvious TW cone so... how?

What is the fastest sector space engine out there? Is it Aegis?

Curious minds want to know...

Probably the Borg Set. IIRC, that's one of the sets capable of moving extremely fast through Sector space without resorting to Transwarping.

If no visible visual effects, probably Borg.

There is a mod for the slip stream that he might have had on his core.
Well excuse me for having enormous flaws that I don't work on.

If set up right the Borg engine can do transwarp 29 - 33 depends on boosts etc which is faster than anything else in game as far as I know.

Gotta factor in the upgrade system, too... I think Epic quality Impulse engines get a [Coi]x2 modifier... and engines like the Borg and MACO engines eat that up. If you're at Mk XIV Epic on either one of those... yeah, LOL.

There are two things that come to mind for faster than normal sector space flight.

    First is the borg engines.

    Second is the M.A.C.O. engines.

Both of these will provide faster sector space travel.

Also, putting skill points into Driver Coil will also provide a boost to sector space travel.

Isn't there a trait you can get from the new lockbox that increases it? or was that only turn rate?

I've only seen the new turn rate but that's not to say there isn't a speed buff out there.

Maco or Borg eh? I see some STFs in my immediate future..

Probably Borg engine with the visual effects turned off... Don't forget Diplomatic Immunity and Raiding Party can be stacked for even greater speed...

DI/RP only increase slip stream speed.
I usually have the assimilated engine in my travel fit with 6 points in driver coils that already gives transwarp 19.88...
Its also cheaper than the maco and the 2pc and 3pc set is still very viable.

No, they also increase transwarp speeds by bolstering Driver Coil skills and maximum transwarp speed...
    • Grants a +50 buff to the Starship Driver Coil skill while in sector space
    • Increases maximum warp and slipstream speeds in sector space by 25%, when using Assimilated Subtranswarp Engines, M.A.C.O. Impulse Engines or Fleet Advanced Engines.

Is this the Vaadware lockbox trait you mean?

    Lead Foot - Space Trait

    * Increased Speed and Turn Rate during Full Impulse and Quantum Slipstream

So no advertised help for regular sector space travel as advertised.

    I haven't personally tried it.

Use borg engine, lots of driver coil, solanae warp core for subspace fold, DI + RP, and put it all on a Dauntless. You'll be king of the new sector space once the walls come crumbling down in S10. :D

Why the Dauntless? The Vesta has the Chroniton Integrated Quantum Slipstream from the 2-piece, wouldn't that be faster?

Dauntless has the Hyper-Advanced QSS. I'm not sure which is better. They both last for 60 seconds though.
