    The totals needed for raising levels are too high for this to be worth my zen.

    Pretty much this, especially for the 15 to 20 slog.

    Just like the xp boosts, way, way way too much zen for what they are actually worth.

    Just a thought:

    These are ridiculous. You can get 6-7k free daily just by clicking a button.

    The reason why most people are not doing R&D/crafting is that:

    1.) It costs dilithium.
    You can argue only the application of tech costs dilithium (the Omega upgrade being an attempt to say - hey - try this for free), but every step in the development process has this dilithium time gate that says 'HA HA, YOU NEED TO SPEND DIL. It was very poorly marketed ;)

    2.) You've priced the process out of the range of the casual player.
    The amount of dil a player has to commit over the life of ONE ALT is ridiculously high. For many of us with dedicated player styles and MULTIPLES of alts, it's cost prohibitive. I've spent over $500 and I'm still not done upgrading (multiple alts).

    Anyone with basic math skills can figure out that crafting early (before you reach lvl 15) is RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED. It's cheaper to buy someone elses drops than make your own stuff..

    Worse still, you've made everything harder making upgrades a necessity, and you've had the balls to put the best stuff out of the reach of the average casual player. Reason #264 why the queues are empty.

    At the end of the day you've created a bigger problem than you intended. Offering us another way to pay to make it 'more acceptable' isn't the solution.

    The prices are almost as outrageous as the XP Boosts.

    Not going to happen. Gecko said the system was designed NOT to be respec'd.

    I could be mistaken, but it looks like there were some misplaced decimals there. I'm sure it's meant to read 20,000 R&D Pool for the small and 100,000 for the large.

    Also, the Zen price seems to suffer from almost the total opposite problem, since I'm sure it's meant to say 20 Zen for the small and 80 Zen for the large.

    [/sarcasm]

    Seriously though, even if these "mistakes" were real, and the boosters were made to mimic my joke, I still wouldn't bother. Perhaps once we get a way to actually pick the mods we want on crafted items they would be wor...

    No, never mind. I have crafting to level 15 in all the schools now and I do not see myself slogging through again for the "fun" of it. Because, it isn't fun.

    Anyway, I shall look upon these poor, soon to be neglected items with the same pity I have for the Skill Point boosts. Meaning I'll completely forget they even exist within 2 minutes after being reminded of them.

    I think the numbers are far, far too low. 6,000 and 30,000 I'd say would have to be the absolute minimum I'd even consider, and that would be at a lower price anyway.

    I think they missed a zero from both boosters :). The Zen price... hmmm... Don't know who's stupid enough to spend money on that. Same for xp boosters.

    Trendy, perhaps a graphic will help you understand why the boosts are woefully overpriced for how tiny the benifit is.

    It takes 630,000 xp to reach level 15 in one crafting school.

    X = one small boost
    Xxxxx = one large boost.

    Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <--- 630,000 exp

    This is applying one small plus one large boost. Do you see why the numbers are too small now? Can you please get this communicated to the powers that be?

    The same problem exists for all the boost items.

    Waitasec.

    800zen for a 10,000 boost is 130,400 dil at the moment. Just completing the 20hour bonus research project for 18,000 dil works out cheaper.

    Only the most idiotic of players would waste real money or their dil reserves on this blatant cash grab.

    Going to agree with the general view here, for the cost these things give far too little R&D XP boost. To be honest as said previously as well its just like CXP & XP boosts just not worth it for any developed character on a cost/reward basis. Only caveat to that is that a low level casual player might feel some benefit to it in the short term (and hence worth their while), but that's probably a very small portion of the player base, for the rest of us a factor of 10 (maybe more) boost in the reward might make it feel more worthwhile for the cost.

    Sorry, but that price/exp ratio is way off. If i take the 800 zen for a big boost and exchange it for dil just to press the finish now button, i could finish 7 daily projects which would net me at least 42k research exp.

    I think this announcement came out too early. I think it was suppose to come out on April 1st.

    Nothing against you Trendy, I know that you are just letting us know about it. However, the higher ups should know better than to do something stupid like this. Seriously, after the unfortunate release of DR, someone thought this was a good idea?

    Sad, sad money grab.
