Seriously.
And don't boost NPC XP gain in PvE queue missions.
NO. Players love to do Patrol missions so much.
Don't make a ground and space PvE-PvP multiplayer battlezone.
Nope. Players love more to sit on exchange or AFK in patrol missions.
because gear and crafting gear and selling gear is so immersive.
Dont ruin my exchange elite daily.
EDIT:
This thread was about sarcasm and bitterness.
Now since we see that things are actually changing and that devs want to actually fix some systems :
General:
-UI is mostly laggy and a big resource hog
-big loadout issues
PvP:
where to even start
-scoreboard doesn't list KDF players, mostly incorrect even without that
-powers/levels due to specialization and ships are not balanced, needs matchmaking and custom private games
-maybe some new maps
-ground combat has BIG potential, kobali prime style PvP battlezone with some PvE maps like Defend Rhl'hho Station would be great for ground PvP, for example
-Day/night/weather random conditions would be welcome as well
-Space PvP maps and in general needs big refreshment
Intel skills:
-Ionic turbulence in PvP disables ships completely, chain stunning possible in combination with Viral Torp trait and other Science abilities
-Ships need bigger hull/shield modifiers, or lower weapon/exotic dmg modifiers in pvp
_Surgical Strikes and Override System safeties in combination with Beam Overload's 100%CrtH and very high ACC these days makes these abilities certain kills
but for start even a small acknowledegment of PvP problems and players would be nice.
When I come back all there is, is exchange pvp. If you improve PvP and decouple things from the best "grind" missions in gaming ever. What will happen to all these exchange warriors, you will completely dry up my opponent pool.
PLS Cryptic don't fix PvP and pull all those eyeballs of the exchange... also how am I going to get teams for Patrols. There aren't enough players in this game for you to divert them to anything that may be equally as fun as the engaging patrol missions of STO.
And i forgot to add.
We need more Monthly Events. I just love those.
Be it Crystaline, summer, winter, Q, Q, mirror, you name it. I mastered them all.
I think they should go about the events in a different way though.
Perhaps give us a long term grind goal for the weekend. Like an event project that would require 40-50 Event completion tokens... but set those events to Zero XP / EC reward cause repeating Cryptic quality event missions is reward enough.
Perhaps start a Multi Weekend Event Mission as well... something like;
"As you have completed 10 Weekly Event Missions Q has rewarded you the following title: Weekend Warrior"

and an obligatory non-combat ship pet. maybe an ISS Spock's broken nacelle pet from miror invasion.
I like when gameplay accomplishments are recognized in such fashion so everyone can see it just how good you are in events.
I know this thread isn't overly serious but maybe someone can answer a question for me.
Why not open up the foundry tools to allow players to create pvp missions and maps? Seems like that would be a way to add pvp content on the cheap and would at least provide the pvpers a place to put there energy into. Seems like it would be a win for everyone, pvpers get new content, you have to spend little to make it happen.
Chris Robert's on SC:
"You don't have to do something again and again and again repetitive that doesn't have much challange, that's just a general good gameplay thing."
I just allowed myself to imagine a future in which cryptic did fix PvP....
... Its perfectly balanced...
... you have to run an R&D Project which takes 8 hours and costs 2k dilithium to get an item that kills another player and is consumed on use.
There is also an R&D Project which takes 12 hours and costs 3K Dilithium. To get an item that counters another players use of the previusly mentioned item. This item is not consumed on use and you only need to have it in your bank for it to protect all your characters from the newly improved PvP system.
...
...
This is how cryptic would do it right? ... I'm not mad....

No. No pvp at all. PvP games are not successful as social farming games.
Competitive MP games make billions just because players don't have an option for quality farming and nice crafting-exchange system. SP games that are successful are things of the past as well.
Nothing better then linking that gold Particle Generator[PrtG] console in zone chat when some start talking about nonsense as PvP or PvE.
They should enhance crafting and exchange systems even further, though.
For example when you craft that nice AP CrtDx4 beam array it should go as system announce on everyones screens with the price, same as when someone obtains it.
I think they should go about the events in a different way though.

How do you people even *have* the free time to keep ****ting up threads on the forum for a game you don't even like?
This post is riddled with false assumptions.
On the contrary, I love this game, otherwise I wouldn't be here, make threads or play it.
But patience for fixing stuff is not unlimited.
The y seriously need to step up and enhance exchange-crafting and remove other nonsense that just distracts from it.
why do pvp people feel that the best way to fix pvp is to complain about and belittle people that enjoy PVE? Or to cry for nerfs to PVE builds and gear?
I used to think "i wish they would give the pvp players what they want". But after so many of these types of posts ... well, I have to say I am enjoying the whines about the state of PVP a bit when I read this sort of post.
A lot of the pvp woes are self inflicted anyway. What did you *think* would happen when you exploited disables etc and one-shotted everyone? That folks would want to keep playing? OO that is so much more fun than working on spec points, I can't wait to go be disabled and vaped again!! Whee!! Given the way the pvp folks behaved, playing the exchange actually IS more fun.
Give PvP players the one-shot, one-kill Borg invisi-torp. That'll make PvP so much better. And think how many matches you can have. You can have a competition to see how many kills you can make in five minutes. I-kill-you, you-kill-me, I-kill-you, you-kill-me ... I mean how much better can it get?

Again, a lot of false assumptions.
Many people that like to PvP play PvE as well, in fact, they play PvE way better and more then average player.
And you are mixing PvE with grinding patrol and Event missions.
I don't see many people that enjoy Argala, or do it because they love it.
You do?
A note on exploits, one shots etc.:
If stuff is balanced properly and fixed when broken, there is nothing to exploit.
Unbelievable, right?

we have that already. it's called neutronic torpedo,
here take a look:
and see 5:2 PvP score in span of 20 seconds in part called Fall of Argala from The Wrath of Spock.
So, no need to fix PvP. It's perfect, even PvP haters love the state of it.
Maybe they could remove it completely, that would be nice and concentrate more on 8th XP patch fix in a row and throw few vanity pets on top of it.
Again, a lot of false assumptions.

No false assumptions. The OP (sarcasm, sure, but what he said) implies that all PVE players do is grind patrols and play the exchange. Talk about false assumptions... I do not grind patrols often, and when I do, yes I enjoy it because I am in an odd mood for mindless killing. Once in a while, I enjoy just beating on things in a game. Since DR, that means I have spent maybe 2 days where I had more than an hour in patrols back to back. Most other days since DR I have not done even 1 patrol.
The stuff is balanced to allow casual players the tools to casually, without in-depth game knowledge, to build ships that can handle massive health, high damage dealing NPC targets. It is not broken for its intended use. It is only broken against other players when wielded by people that know all the game mechanics and can form nasty combos and builds. All that needs doing is to add a PLAYER SIDE disable counter. Like other games have... after being disabled, you can't be disabled again for X seconds. One problem (of several) solved without a nerf. My point, the only point really (after removal of sarcasm on both sides) is to stop trying to fix PVP by nerfing everything. Ive said it before, and I will say it again: almost all nerfs are not necessary but are the result of lazy programmers applying a quick fix. Almost all nerfs can be handled in a positive way instead. Which means most of the pvp problems can be fixed without nerfs, with a little creativity on the side of the devs doing the fixes.
Yes please don't fix PvP because I am dying to pay money to upgrade my ship to fight against other players who have nothing to do in life but focus on how fast they can "kill" another player and come up with clever new insults for those they deem 'inferior'...
I can see this thread spawning massive positive change in both the forums and the game, thank you OP!
I know this thread isn't overly serious but maybe someone can answer a question for me.

Short version: foundry doesn't work that way.
long version: foundry is setup to be exclusively PvE. All players present have the same goal(s) and are on the same team. also there is only ever one active spawn point.
To elaborate on the goals... Foundry mission objectives are strictly linear. It's a simple do A, do B, etc... PvP requires objectives that are more fluid than that. For example: Shanty town, the goal is to deplete the respawn counter of your enemy not necessarily to kill them 25 times. Obviously kills count, but there are sabotage objectives that also count. In some ways it's similar to the newer percentage completion based objectives.
Also PvP has that scoreboard feature that tracks team performance.
I would LOVE to be able to make PvP maps in foundry though.
I visited Ker'rat during the weekend. It was the first time in a long time and it was dead. No-one to be seen at all.
I realised then that I had become the single best and greatest elite PvP'er of all time. Through fear and respect alone the map was left empty, lest they encounter me in battle! Even the greatest challengers would rather face PvE sponges than me!
So no, don't fix it. Otherwise I'll have to actually prove it :P

At first I thought this thread would be serious, and I was all like, "yeah, the OP gets it."
Then I read the OP, and it's clear he doesn't.
I know, right?
What i did last few days in STO:
Bought master keys, sell stuff i don't want on exchange, bought more master keys, sell more, craft something, omega minigame, in meantime played elite PvE with best rewards, with things i could sell, craft some gold upgrade techs, sell some fragments, make more shards, and doffing, ofcourse.
Started to equip 2 toons to max my stuff, then realized why bother, NPCs die even from cheap gear, there is no PvP to use it all, grinding specialization is useless as well because nowhere to use it, right?
So I changed my mind, exchange and crafting can't function alone.
Peopel need to use it somewhere.
I have played this game since S4, ever since that time it's always been "PvP is broken". Yet no where I have ever seen someone say exactly what is broken. In my limited experience with it, there was a time when hardly anyone would die in a balanced match, and that was just boring. What we have now seems pretty good in comparison.

Exactly... its not worth trying to balance it... if they balance it it will just be boring.
What we have now needs to be deleted. Seriously the few people that go and do it annoy me. I mean they should be on the exchange battling me over the price of fragments and z-parts. The fact that Cryptic is still allowing people to waste time there is annoying to me.
Argala can stay... this way we can all have one place to meet up when we do want to show off our titles and non combat pets... cause people can't see me stuffs when I'm on the ground exchanging, and I like to exchange in out of the way places to hide from my enemies. Its a cut throat market... if some of my market enemies find me they will try to distract me with party poppers and such. Can't let that happen.
So yes Exchange is good... and needs enhancing. Perhaps we could have a Crafting school dedicated to the exchange. Everyone should only be allowed to sell 2 things by default and then have to unlock exchange space through the R&D System... and those tokens should be free to trade on the exchange as well, they should be time based unlcoks... "Exchange Weekly 10 slot pass" ect. The exchange tokens should require a bunch of new components as well... things like "Ferengi Lobe Gel", "Banking Chips", "Market Neck Implants" ect ect ... More things to do battle over, I Demand it.
