Backdoor Mitigation of Catastrophic Miscalculations

Looks like Cryptic is trying to walk back their insane upgrade cost scheme by offing new upgrade modalities with the omega upgrade kits.

It is a positive development that at least they have some idea that they screwed up. Hopefully they won't fold considering my LTS subscription....and if they walk enough changes back I may actually enjoy playing this game instead of grinding.

For now I see it as a great anniversary gift and nothing more, however it would be nice to see this again in the future, (with less bugs).

I think you're misreading them seeing a TRIBBLE-up as a means to get more people hooked on the crafting gambling system.

But my grandpa taught me to never look a gift horse in the mouth. Just to make damn sure it's actually a horse.

Yeah. This is very definitely just a system to get people into the upgrade and crafting systems. I would participate, but I'm a tad bored of the game atm. Have given up on all grinds.

If you think that it somehow is cheaper, I think you might be wrong - the time you spend scanning omega molecules is time you don't spend making Dilithium. For most people, it will probably make no difference whether they do the one thing or the other. People that regularly exceed the refinement cap may feel different.

But it is something different than the usual stuff to do, of course.

If it's cheaper, than you have to consider that this could also just make a Dilithium Event out of the Anniversary... It is pretty certain that Cryptic does "nice" things for Winter/Summer/Anniversary...

Shame that Omega upgrade kits are broken, and only offer 2x upgrade chance, not the 4x they promised.
    I AM WAR.
