The 5-Year Annivesary Party Popper

medalionemissarymedalionemissary Member Posts: 612 Arc User
Has anyone pointed out the irony of how the Party Popper shoots out (amidst other things) money to celebrate the 5 years of STO?

Is this an inside joke, or a reveal of the direction of how the remainder of the year is going to go?
Deep Space Nine in HD, make it so!

Well I asumed it was meant to be some kind of Leprechaun reference seeing as it also shoots rainbows.

I've actually felt some content since DR is just that. "Oh, you guys want *more* rewards? Ok, we'll reduce them". I had the same thought with the party popper.

I had to fight commenting on Geko's "thank-you" to that gamer. It had this feeling like "See, you a-holes?!?! People looooooove our games!" Seems to me a private email or something was better suited for that rather than to shove one poor kid who does like the game in everyone's faces as propaganda. That's how it seemed to me anyways.

Devs who worked on D3 had an eerily similar attitude towards it's forum-goers at the start as well until the players screamed and screamed and screamed and they finally adjusted the ego.

Anyways, i wondered the same. Not claiming it's intentional but Cryptic isn't the most player-friendly company i've ever seen, that much is for sure. And I know, feelings get hurt, etc. It happens but I guess I'm wrong to expect a more professional, open dialog in today's world.

I can't believe someone bought my party popper of the exchange for 200,000 EC.
Well excuse me for having enormous flaws that I don't work on.

I don't know why ERP types don't just head to their starship's bridge, take the turbolift to the crew deck and head for the bedroom there.

    Lazy pervs.

I don't know why but for me personally I did chuckle at just how TRIBBLE this years party popper was :D
And yet for some reason I got them on all my alts lmao! I just see people at a party with their explosive party poppers, the ones that make balloons, the ones that shoot glitter and confetti, and just my grumpy Klingon in the corner with his crappy party popper lol! :D

Get one for each of your Bridge Officers and when you're next in a ground STF and you need your boff to kill an NPC or want them to revive you, they'll be stood there using that damn party popper instead.
