Simple pre-loading question

If the launcher is downloading 3 gigs worth of data now, then what was (were?) the 3 gigs worth of data that I downloaded last week after exiting a play session?

Should I just stop it pre-loading stuff in the future? We don't all have unlimited download from our ISPs, sadly, and every bit does add up in the end.

Not complaining about it, so much as really curious.

    As far as I know there is no way to stop the pre loads that you are referring to. Cryptic turns them on in the launcher on their end and they stay on till Cryptic turns them off.

    1) Exiting the launcher completely would stop the pre-loads, I would imagine. I'll certainly be doing that in the future.

    2) I'm still in the dark as to why I had to download it TWICE - this is the issue I am curious about.
