Expressing one's opinion about the game and its various parts is good. It's called feedback and it can be helpful, but only if it's constructive. There are parts of the game that people dislike and for good reason, like rubberbanding in ESD. Well you all hate it. I spent hours running around ESD and rubberbanding on most of my fed toons. Yes I'm weird. However the way some of you manifest your negative opinions is in completely destructive ways. I've seen insults thrown and tantrums had and none of that negativity is helpful.
On the other side of the coin, I've seen fanboys come in and try to defend cryptic about things that really were cryptics fault. Like when the Legacy of Romulus pack came out and the game couldn't handle a lot of players tyring to log in. Cryptic knew how many accounts there were and should have anticipated that a large number of them would try to log in on the first day of the first expansion. As many of you I'm sure remember, cryptic forgot to replace the batteries in their abbicus that day because whatever calculations they made were way off. On came the fanboys claiming that it wasn't cryptic's fault because the servers work fine on normal days ( >> ) and they shouldn't spend resources on servers or whatever on expansion day because if they did then cryptic would I guess be stuck with servers that were too good? Yes that happened. ( Cryptic, I've spent thousands of dollers on your game. Please use it on making the game more stable instead of gambling on underground tribble fights...).
And fanboys, cryptic doesn't need you to defend them.
I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I have sundowning syndrome and get really angry and aggressive late at night...
We can agree on the rubber banding - which was not fixed by tonight's patch.
It actually made it worse for me. I went from bouncing every 15-20 steps to bouncing every 2-3 steps...it's actually making me nauseous trying to walk around ground maps. I had no BOFF ability delays in space previously and now it's a case of waiting to see if anything activates. If not for the I'm going to puke now stuff...it might be mildly entertaining in a detached sort of way.
We can agree on the rubber banding - which was not fixed by tonight's patch. As for the Omega minigame, it's become easier, and has rewarded random slivers twice for me this evening.
In any case, we can also agree to disagree
Rubberbanding aside, so far I am impressed with the new episodes, the ships and the general state of this week in the game. It's a refreshing change of pace.

Honestly, I find the minigame even worse than the shell game, as I have to move to 3 different sector every day, and spend most of my time in loading screen.
The box is full of powercreep and p2win (supremacy lol).
The BOFF training is incomplete, and some of it are far too expensive (31K dil for a spec token).
The ship is still a grind.
The added omega r&d is a huge grind.
But yeah, the mission is fine.
Now, that's my opinion, and I'm not going to say you are an idiot/fanboy for having a different opinion.
And fanboys, cryptic doesn't need you to defend them.
Ok, something I just want to point out here... You're trying to suggest people need to consider the position of others, and be more constructive, yet you then throw out these little pearlers?
I don't know if this a very well camouflaged troll thread or not, but it's definitely quite cynical and biased against anyone who might actually understand that sometimes **** happens, and sometimes it's not a perfect world... And sometimes, just sometimes, it's not actually within Cryptic's power to fix things the way players want it...

This for example, to take the opinion that such an expenditure is NOT justified to level out performance for a short spike in activity, when those servers would be virtually idle for most of the year, shows common sense and an understanding of how MMO servers operate...
Suggesting that anyone who would not only understand, but share their opinions as to why Cryptic would not buy more servers for a couple days, a couple times a year, is some how a 'fan boy' or 'white knight' actually highlights how little you understand about running an server...
The only failing of Cryptic's I see in this case, is that they failed to enforce more stringent maximums on player numbers to improve overall server stability...
But then, you'd have all the F2P players screaming they can't get on and have to wait, it's a catch 22 for Cryptic...
It took me about 40 or so minutes to recreate ONE ships loadout .
That included having the load out system make things worse then when I logged in, struggling with unknown icons , changing Boff powers several times (until the stayed the way I wanted them) , and taking various snapshots of the new loadout to have a reference as to how things are supposed to be (for the next meltdown of the loadout system or the Boff powers system) .
That as I said was one toon and one ship .
I have 15 or so combat ready toons and several dozen ships .
Yet I find myself calmer about all of this then the self congratulating post Cryptic made for their 5 year Anniversary ... , which IMHO they have reached by luck far more then by skill or ability .
... just because I have trollish ways does not mean I don't have legitimate reasons to complain ...

Hi, you seem to not have payed attention to my post at all. Firstly people who understant that #### happens and the world isn't perfect isn't a fanboy or a troll. What I meant by troll is someone who gets enraged by the game's foibles and comes into the forums and types inflametary, insulting, possibly offensive things about game related things or the game devs or mods. That's completely different than what you said. A fanboy is a fanboy, nuff said, and also not who you described.
Look, I don't know how to run a server, but we just had emergency maintenence tonight. Also trying to explain why it's ok for cryptic not to take steps to make its game or server able to handle an influx of people on a day an expansion or big update or whatever comes out is absurd.
Oh well, call me a troll and insult f2p players then. I on the other hand wish you good fortune and have a nice night.
