Mod toggles for crafting

I am trying to gear up an alt using the crafting system and only 1 of every 3 does not have pvp mods on them. Since I don't plan on doing pvp with this alt, can we alt least have an option to turn off the chance to add the pvp mods that we don't want?

Or at least make a separate section in each school for pvp gear? I am losing crafting materials to making gear only to have to sell them on the exchange.

I think I suggested the exact same thing before….there is simply no reason why we should have PvP mods foisted on us if we don't PvP. It's irritating.

I understand the idea of an RNG so getting the "perfect" item is an accomplishment.

But I agree that giving us 99.9% useless mods like PVP Res, PVP Dmg, Thrust is not a crafter-friendly decision.

Cryptic has lowered the mat costs to make crafting more rewarding, If they could also drop the makes-it-worthless mods it would be a kindness.

I remember how flaky the D2 randomizer was... At least STO has a guaranteed floor on how crappy an item can be. D2 crafters would often give/sell the results to low level players because it wasn't worth using.

I am used to RNG in crafting, I played WoW and every one of my characters was maxed in a particular area. Armour was a pain as it was completely random on stats and whether or not it would be green or blue. Wasn't so bad for cloth and leather armour due to the abundance of those mats, but plat and mail could be a pain. The difference being the "useless" stuff could be sent of to my enchanter to be turned into something useful.

It would be good if we could break down gear here too to get some of the mats back, it doesn't have to be all.

On the toggle idea I can see it working if it is restriceted to ones you don't want and to a set number say two or three mods can be blocked only. FOr example I am not interested in PvP mods so I would like to be able to block them, I would count them as one mod, and then thrust seems useless to me. Obvioulsy different people have different ideas on what is useful and what is not.

The funny thing is if PvP was actually decent here, I would like to give it a go. Then the PvP mods, if they worked, would be what I would aim for. Though I do think they should be a seperate school, meaning the items would always have one of the PvP mods, and then the rest would be random.

the question I have for you is are your crafting Mk X-XII of the items you want or are you making Mk II of the item?

Just about everything I craft whether Mk II or MK XII almost always ends up with a pvp mod, which is a mod I do NOT want. I'll be happy for [Crt] and [Dmg] mods over all the others. But that never seems to happen.

I always do Mk II and dil them up just so I get the stats I want and a better chance at an UR item. But in terms of pvp stats I don't know what to tell you I get 1 pvp item per 5 crafted items average. My biggest pet peeve is getting an [ACC]x2 item.....very dirty at best I want [ACC]x1
