What would you like the next expansion to be about?

I would like to see a round that reintroduces Exploration and Diplomacy into the game, with perhaps a healthy dose of Intrigue in the form of provocateurs working for the Iconians.

Not that the Iconians need to be behind absolutely everything in STO, but it's a major unresolved plot point and they could easily have servitor races anywhere.

That could take place anywhere, in any Quadrant. I am, of course, partial to the idea of reopening the Gamma Quadrant. But it would be adequate excuse to expand any of the known sector blocks.

Definitely want to see them play off of the revelations of Iconian monitoring shown in Sphere of Influence.

    .

Agreed. When I started playing STO, the exploration missions were already gone and all that was left was the story missions and the omega mark grind. Some exploration would be a nice change of pace.

Lets see why the Tholians want a dried out rocky wasteland like Nukara Prime shall we? The Tholians can contribute to the storyline because they were servitors to the Shedai who were around when the Iconians ruled. Even though Starfleet destroyed the potentially evil Shedai in 2268 I believe by blowing up a starbase. Lets say a few Shedai survived and built new conduits in the Taurus Reach (Pi Canis sector block, a bit of Tau Dewa, and a bit of Eta Eridani and beyond) including the apostate who still sees us as equals while the wanderer survived and wants to DESTROY EVERYTHING once and for all and the Tholians are on Nukara because they detected a Shedai conduit and they're trying to destroy it.

*For information on the Shedai read the Star Trek Vanguard saga

Here's my idea for the next expansion, the Klingon Empire goes into another Civil War between the great houses of the empire, half of the houses ally with each other to try and expand the empire by force whilst the other great houses fight together to stop the hard liners.

Starfleet forces are put on high alert on the Klingon border and the Romulans put their military on high alert as the conflict spills over into Federation and Romulan territory.

"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

I'm only on book 4! Really good stuff. Makes me long for a TOS version of this game, with less suck and more fun of course.

Then Im sorry about the spoilers

PS: Xiong is the one who blows up Vanguard and the Tholians were about to destroy it anyway. And what so interesting about stuff that's already happened in the shows? That why I like STO so much, Its not tied down to the shows so much.
