Higher rank versions only attainable via crafting school. "Small" amounts of dilthium HMMM. WOW
CRF4 DEM4 Who knows maybe even SS4 OMG
So once this hits tribble gotta wonder what this will do to pvp. Although I am sure this will solve the issue of apo2 ewp2 gw2 etc...
I wonder if this means certain powers will be moved down at lower ranks though like would aux 2 sif 1 and aux 2 damp 1 be ens level powers now. Would ewp1 be a lt rank power?

the scary part is how they can use it for P2W of biblical proportions. how about EPtS4 for LTC? or BO4, HE4, etc. how about gold quality EPtS3 you can use in an ENS slot?
has cryptic fallen far enough to stoop that low?
a) The dil cost doesn't get prohibitive, and
b) They don't use this to powercreep Boff abilities,
this could be a very nice improvement. Cheers for not having to go all the way back to the trainer, or having to hunt down your specific faction's career to train a high level ability (Rom-KDF Engineers, anyone?). They said that the school doesn't have to be leveled, which is nice.
Tell me you are not thaaaat naif..

You know, they said straight up in the blog that this is their chance to release levels of powers that don't exist right now but logically should...
Like Photonic Officer III, and all the other skills that only got a I and II right now except on "hyper special BOffs"...
And so, the opening salvo of "Powercreep Battles, BOff front" is fired...
To rob a line: [quote: Mariemaia Kushrenada] Forum Posting is much like an endless waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever. However, opinions will change upon the reading of my post.[/quote]
As if.....merely stating a couple conditions. I doubt that dilithium costs will be nuts ala upgrade system, but I expect powercreep galore.
Odd, my Photonic BOF has Photonic Officer III. :P

The rest of the stuff about the revamp looks like a decent idea so far.
I guess we'll see when it goes out for testing.
On Holodeck.
God knows anything that happens on tribble related to this will be ignored
It also means full SRO crews for fed and kdf.
This game keeps getting better with every patch.
Apparently some forum posters have diplomatic immunity nowadays, where can I get mine? [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
SRO is a trait, not an ability.

Yeah, but now those tactical embassy boffs with the trait, can be trained in any ability. So yeah...

Don't see how you can make a "full crew" when there's no ENG SRO from the Embassy.
I just looked at ours and nope, just tac and sci.

Actually your totally right, I must have misread the blog, I thought it said teach any ability to any boff. I guess I was to tired last night *shrug*.

Really is what this boils down to is you need dilith to train them then if you need the boff now, you will need dilith to get it and i am sure when you want to swap skills out you will need dilith to do it...
Just more money grab and if you haven't noticed they don't allow the players time to build up from the last power creep its like one after another.
This way instead of paying maybe 10 to 20 bucks for pay to win players they need to pay 300 bucks a month.
For non pay players they farm a lot and have no time to do anything else other than play the same missions 8372598432 times!
For people in the middle like me who use to give them a bit here and there for ship packs or maybe a few keys and dilith who also have no time to farm for hours on end would have to spend hundreds to keep up so they can go f them selves...!
And still there are 5 year old bugs in this game that they don't care about...
they seem to be releasing new ubur grinds at the pace it is physically possible for the mythical NEET whale to complete them, because apparently it is only they who are worth pleasing now. cant have them getting board with their done characters.
Its also possible it has nothing at all to do with any of us.
Perhaps there just getting it done... so they can release this piece in China to people that will appreciate the genius.
After I read this, I double-checked mine. Only Tac comes with SRO from our embassy. The Eng and Sci come with Subterfuge, regular and superior.
i think you figured it out, a NEET whale is probably a good way to describe the game playing and spending habits of about a billion Chinese people.
so after all this time were the china connection was perfectly benign, and all of our guards were down, it finally comes to collect the game's head.
as of the last tribble patch notes, i no longer even log in to start crafting projects. and i couldn't even name 1 command skill, i don't want to know, im just so done. they aren't ever going to be forced to bring the grind back down to sane levels, they are just gonna live off the Chinese and get away with ruining the game.
Not that we already have power creepagedon
*cough*upgrade
*hack*specialization
We need a new word for this. Powerocketing? Powerzooming?
I'm Chinese. Got a problem with that?
That's the flashlight looking thing right ?
This is a very plausible possibility but my question is :in case ... just in case all of these grind and nerfs will make most of the trekkies run away or just close their wallets once and for all and just play the content, are they sure this MMO could be competitive enough in the Chinese market to survive?
Pro : There are so many Chinese people ...
Against : the IP is not so famous there and this game is far from being perfect and is only 10th or 9th in the best FREE MMOs top 10.
you know i never thought at that.Maybe they made the game like is now to move it to chance (probably under a different name).Pve games are for offline play not on a server with a item store.
What do you understand by NEET - the usual UK use is "a young person who is 'Not in Education, Employment, or Training' ".
In the context of this thread I assume this means that (a) they have lots of free time and (b) can spend money since they don't have to worry about providing for food, housing etc. Contrast with China which is, at least in terms of raw effort, outcompeting much of the West by working longer hours for less money.
Not that I disagree with the underpinning logic - after all, maxing out your specialisations will only take a long working week in Argala...
