It was mentioned in the TV show that at one point in time there was as many as 18 Kazon sects. Most have not been named. Some only showed up in one episode. The two clans that were depicted as the most powerful(Ogla and Relora) actually didn't show up very often in the show.
It's possible that the sects that were not seen on screen live in other areas of the Delta Quadrant farther away from the part Voyager visited.
Halik:
2370s: enemies of Nistrim
Basics: Culluh was planning to attack them with Voyager after he captured the ship
2410: join Delta Alliance
Hobii:
2370s: semi-allied with Nistrim, Mostral, and Oglamar, weak
Maneuvers: discussed alliance with Nistrim
Alliances: meet at Sobras
Mostral:
2370s: semi-allied with Nistrim, Hobii, and Oglamar, weak, sometimes an enemy of Nistrim
Maneuvers: discussed alliance with Nistrim, swore revenge for what happened
Alliances: meet at Sobras
2410: join Delta Alliance
Nistrim:
2370s: semi-allied with Mostral, Hobii, and Oglamar, weak, enemies of Halik and Relora, seem to be generally disdained by other Kazon.
Maneuvers: discussed alliance with Mostral, Hobii, and Oglamar
Alliances: meet at Sobras
Basics: Culluh was planning to attack the Halik with Voyager after he captured the ship
2410: attempt to side with the Vaadwaur
Ogla:
2370s: enemies of the Relora, powerful, mine Ocampa
Caretaker: The Ogla were the sect that had established a mining colony on Ocampa, they seemed to have a particular dislike for Ocampans.
2410: join Delta Alliance, don't betray it
Oglamar:
2370s: semi-allied with Nistrim, Hobii, and Mostral, weak
Maneuvers: discussed alliance with Nistrim
Alliances: meet at Sobras
Relora:
2370s: enemies of the Nistrim and Ogla, very powerful,
Maneuvers: their Maje got killed by Culluh
2410: join Delta Alliance, later betray it
Sera:
*only mentioned in manuals*
Vistik:
2370s: weaker than Nistrim--(novel)
STO Missions involved:
Alliances, Takedown
as for Foundry assets..... those are sparse. We can cobble together costumes that are reasonable.... especially since the Kazon didn't wear uniforms. There is a customizable Kazon ship costume, and I think we can use premade space costumes. But.... we have no premade ground costumes, and we don't have their hair or forehead, though we have vaguely similar options.
I wish we had more Kazon ground NPCs to play with. I have a mission I've been working on where the players will fight a few Kazon on the ground and it would look silly if all of them were skinned as Kazon Male 01. Therefore I had to resort to making attempts at making Kazon ground costumes in order to fill out the ranks.
Here's an image of one that I created in The Foundry...
I wish there were a few more costume options, such as the s***locks for the hair and a skin texture that looks more like it's been sandblasted.
Here are some links to the images of the settings I used if anyone wants to use them. Or if you have any suggests, let me know.
So, I played alliances and made a few notes:
Kim mentions 5 clans on Voyager.
Kazon negotiations are in Bremark.
Halik, Mostral, Ogla, Pommar, and Relora are there.
Then the Nistrim attack....
Majes:
Ket of the Relora.
When the fight was over the Halik and Mostral weren't there, and seem to have been killed in the battle, the other Kazon did that repair thing.
I didn't see the Kazon at the final grouping.
Soo.... What does this mean about the Halik and Mostral? Are they allied with the Nistrim or not? Not sure...
Oh and I noticed something cool. Some of the Dialog buttons included Boff names. I'm not sure if it's really new, but I don't remember seeing it before.
It's likely the producers of Voyager intended for the sects to be spread out across the delta quadrant to allow the Kazon to be seen throughout the series run. But when they ended up being less than popular they abandoned them altogether.
Yeah, maybe. I think the biggest limitation the Kazon had was that they were supposed to be relatively un-advanced technologically. Not only does it make them less threatening but it means they lack cool toys and makes them less interesting in general. Masking Circuits was one of the better ideas that the writers had for things that weren't as advanced as standard tech, but still cool. It basically worked the same way Mask Energy Signature works in game. The writers IMO focused way to much on the weaknesses of Kazon tech and not it's strengths.
