T6 Fleet Holdings are coming to kill us

baxhatrixbaxhatrix Member Posts: 24 Arc User
We all know they're coming.

If you read the descriptions of the T6 Z Store ships, it states the consoles can also be used on Fleet variants.

The great and powerful Metric would never allow buying T6 Fleet Ships out of a T5 Shipyard.

This is going to create even more of a Dilithium sink. I'm in three different Fleets on various toons, and they all suffer from the same issue. The Dilithium requirements are always the last, and slowest to be filled in any project. With Dilithium earning Fleet Credits at a ratio of 1:1, and virtually everything in game requiring Dilithium now, people just don't want to give up any of the 8,000 per day they're allowed to refine.

    cant wait.

... yea... cryptic really need to quit with the whale hunting.

Sorry, but what does this have to do with building up a new tier on a starbase? While FSMs are available on the Exchange, they are nowhere near that expensive , not to mention if you want to use real currency as you mention, is purchasable without using the Exchange at all.

Pehaps you posted in the wrong thread?

Meanwhile, OP: I wouldn't be too shocked if wd get a new tier for the holdings, but different T5 ships are available at different Shipyard Tiers, so I think the logic behind needing a new tier Shipyard is flawed.

Now, a new holding, I'm wondeeing how it is we didn't get one with Delta Rising, but unless it has a unique ship to offer (like the Spire/Solinae ship) the ships would, logically, all be purchased through the Shipyard.

It's more likely he was referring to the currency cost of the new fleet project. Those that will be required to complete before you can get a Fleet T6.

Fleet Ship Modules are available on the Exchange, true. However if a new Fleet Project is headed our way, that's going to require Dilithium to progress, and everyone's Dilithium at the moment is focused on upgrading gear at an excessive price. People aren't going to have the Dilithium to fund these new fleet projects.

Yes, we all knew they were coming at some point. Because Cryptic told us nearly four months ago or so that they were coming.

Make a budget...accept that you can't have everything that you want instantly.

Perhaps, but how do they suddenly make a jump to a price range for ships? If that's what they meant, math or they are trolling.

My bet is that they wont increase the Starbase Tier beyond 5. It is already a ridiculous grind to get to 250,000 XP (which is 1.5x what it takes to get from T0-T4).

The Devs have said that another Fleet Holding will "probably" come with Season 10. I would bet that this new holding will be similar to the Spire where you build it up and it unlocks the T6 Fleet ships.

Are you on about Cryptic, or Players?

Current T5 Retrofits (from the C-Store) cost 2500zen
An Upgrade Token (if purchased correctly) costs 500zen
A Fleet Ship Module also costs 500zen

A Fleet T5 Ship (assuming you've got the C-Store version too) is going to cost nothing short of 3500zen; 2500 for the initial c-store purchase, 500 for the fleet ship module, and then another 500 for the upgrade token.

A T6 ship from the C-Store costs 3000zen, and I'm fully expecting their fleet equivalents to require two Fleet Ship Modules instead of one. That's 4000zen for a ship.

I doubt the Starbase will get another Tier. It's likely we'll get another secondary three-tier project for the Fleet T6's.

I'm still trying to nail down what the 2nd post in the thread is going on about.

I agree with your math, $40 is probably about right, and either a new tier or a new holding is going to be more than $100, but then only needs provisions to get new ships, so where did they get a range of $60-100? I want to see the math, or they are trolling.

BTW, I'm sure there will be a new holding, I'm still not convinced T6F ships will be tied to it. More likely Purple Intel BOffs, much like the Romulan BOffs in the Embassy.

I can't see tier 6 starbases coming personally. The development of the fleet system seems to have been abandoned to me.

It was mentioned that a new holding is coming in the new year with season 10. If anything, I imagine T6 will be part of this or T5 shipyard.

If a fleet holding is put in that would mean zen will be cheaper because dilithium is worth more so FSMs will be cheaper and easier to obtain...

I doubt we'll see a Tier 6 fleet base. There will be a new holding, a 3-tier affair like the embassy, mine, and spire. The Intel ships and probably the other T6 ships will be available that way.

That would appear to be the way they've set things up for themselves...

I bet the next fleet holding will either be the Talaxian Colony or the Elachi Starbase in Subspace.

I dont think it was abandoned I just dont see any practical reason to add another tier for it. I would think maybe it would be some project or something to unlock the ships in the present vendor since our equipment is upgradable and they are not releasing mark xiv stuff (i dont think anyhow) it seems to me the only item not accounted for is just ships so I would see it as a single unlock project on the present ship vendor without any tiers.

Given cryptic,s past history. I'd fully expect them to make us pay through the nose for an upgrade to the fleet holdings. Question is just 'how much do they think is reasonable' to charge for the new T6 fleet range of ships and the holding upgrade that's going to be required. And make no mistake we will see another resource sink forced on us.
Oh, it's not broken? We can soon fix that!

Talaxian Colony for the win, map is already created and the colony is cleared out because the Talaxians have moved.

It's more likely they'll open a new holding.

Probably something like a "Specialist Training Facility" in/on the Jenolian Sphere or something.

With the first Tier, Intel, available. 3 Tiers.

Then when another new Primary specialization comes out, they just add another level 1 Project, such as Vanguard (theoretical Specialization that is Tac/Eng-oriented to Intel's Tac/Sci-oriented). And then another when another new Primary specialization comes out, such as Defender (theoretical Sci/Eng-oriented).

Probably have the ships and Very Rare Specialist-boosting equipment available at Tier 1, Rare and Very Rare Specialist Doffs and Boffs at Tier 2, and unique equipment and Ultra Rare and Epic Specialist Doffs and Boffs at Tier 3.

For Cryptic, another Dil sink (not only in holding development, but new equipment) and another means to further entice use of their Original T6s.

For players, another set of options to customize and refine builds, as well as allow access to Specialist Boffs and Fleet Ships. And the Specialist-boosted gear to at least boost available Specialist abilities from the Primary and Secondary Specializations.

    yeah

first the fleet will have to be t6

then there will be a new fleet-ship-currency (which we will all start with zero of)

or the existing ones will be used at a multiple of 10 or 100 per ship

when T6 fleet holdings come alot of small fleets will by dying because they can not afford the upgrade and the members will leave to fleets which are able to deal with these upgrade requirements

The requirements for the T5 upgrades where massive already.... T6 certainly would require even more resources
