R&D Ultra or Epic?

jimmedjimmed Member Posts: 9 Arc User
There seems to be an issue with advancing any ground weapon from Ultra to Epic. There is no stat benefit for upgrading to Epic that it shows. Example Federation type 3 Phaser Rifle MK XIV at ultra it shows 156 DPS with stun and slow effects. If you pull it into the upgrade window it shows Epic possibility with the same stats. If you go ahead and make it Epic the stats are still the same. Is this a bug or is going epic just a waste?

Hrmm, based on this post: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=19265431&postcount=159 :going Epic with a Ground weapon should have provided a [Dm/CrH] mod. Is it not getting that mod and thus not showing the boosts from that mod? I've never upgraded a Ground item...but I remembered Jesse's post which also covered Ground items.

Does anyone know what a [crit x] mod does cause to me it means nothing and the tool tip isn't very helpful.

    FALSE.

CritX = CritH and 1/2 CritD.

    Thus, [CritX]x2 = [CrtH]x2[CritD]

    FALSE.

CritX = CritH and 1/2 CritD.

    Thus, [CritX]x2 = [CrtH]x2[CritD]

so [CritX]x4 would be [CrtH]x4 and [CritD]x2... pretty nice.

    I guess ideal would be [CritX]x2 with [CritD]x2 for [CritH]x2 and [CritD]x3
