I have friends with mential illness one who thinks he is a android from andromada galaxy I even have bipolar disorder and during a class reunion I decided to get some friends to go to the community mental illness hospitial to pick up a classmate so he could attend I have found my friends with mental illness better to talk to as thay are often uninhibited by common social issues that these days gets far out of hand and that's strange in a good way to me that a more objective chat can be had by a android from another galaxy as he believes him self to be

but far too often when I chat that I don't have an issue with mental illness that is prejudged as having an issue with such things like the mental illness that my android friend who is human and lives down the road from whare I grew up now I have an issue with people who want to make mental illness into something its not because that in it self is the same mental illness that my friend who thinks he is an android from another galaxy and I get called a hater for knowing what it is that's prejudging me

so im starting a forum to talk about the biggest minority that is bigger than eny other to discuss how this prejudging effects players with mental illness I know thay are playing sto and im one of them so please speek up and be friendly no bashing with nonsense please as that's hate

Is this translator trash, simply poorly written or is my reading comprehension temporary impaired because i cannot make heads nor tails from whatever is written in the OP.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I dont think its been put through a translator .

    I will answer ..

I am "older" and we all have issues.

What I dont want to hear in STO is anything about any disability, war, politics, illness, etc.

STO is a game I ask you not to tell me about your personal issues and in return I wont burden you with mine.

    Deal? :)

Not closing the thread, but it belongs in Ten Forward if anywhere and not in STO General.

Or is could actually be someone who suffers from mental illness and has difficulty expressing themselves.

Often times people who suffer from certain mental illnesses can look and speak as if they appear to be drunk. It is not unusual for them to have a hard time connecting with others or even getting a point across. Medication can help, but more often than not the patient still has a certain level of difficulty with what most people would think is everyday activity.

We don't know much about the OP so the only thing I would say is I am leaving myself open to what they may want to say.
No, I am not who you think I am. I am someone different. I am instead a banana.

im a suspected bi-polar case with language problems, days i feel like im giddy and just on top of, some days im so serious and lucid and other days i feel like someone dumped a whole load of cement bricks on me and then carry around this dark cloud like a badge of honor. as for the latter i have never been able to tell others exactly what i wish to sometimes and muddle words up and as a result i sometimes can not understand others and they the same in return.

split personality, borderline behavior is not uncommon to people with a strong enough metal disability. i struggle sometimes with my own sanity, it isnt easy.. but if you can make it through each day without going into silly mode then thats one more day accounted for where you had a relatively straight forward day.

ive also had difficulty in social aspects as well, i dont generate any type of self-confidence in the real world and just stick to my own thing but typically negative or impassive, usually lacking emotions in the process. so it goes through on the forums here and the game. in that sense some people think im a jerk or worse but i just shrug it off and not notice the insult because i dont feel anything for it, but i dont go around insulting others by ignoring them when there could be a valid constructive point somewhere.
I also lack the patience for small things other can deal with like grammar which links to the language problems, ever since i was in secondary school over a decade ago, people have tried to help me get into this aspect of writing but i just dont care for it and never translated. sometime when on official like things where a good standard of written information is needed i try my best to get some commas, semi colons and hypons or whatever they are called into it but that is as far as it goes.
sometimes looking into "deep space" if you like just thinking of nothing and just switching off your mind and you can easily pass off hours without much trouble, i have learned how to do it and its helpful in situations where i got nothing to do in the middle of stress central type of places like an office for example.

i wouldnt presume to know what other people think of the mental disabled, it isnt my concern, but to me, one needs to have patience and understanding as well as enough awareness to understand past all the stuff in a mentally disabled persons mind.

there is more to the subject then some of what is written, but sometimes when someone writes up "are you TRIBBLE dude" they clearly have no idea if they are on planet earth to begin with, but there is no way around that unfortunately.

Far as mental illness is concerned, I think the main thing is that everyone handles and is affected by it in very different ways. I have a slight case of it myself, though I have family who are at the other end of the spectrum from where I am.

The key thing is to deal with people on a case by case basis, and just get to know and then accept them for who they are. Disability just means you're different to others like, well, everyone else is different to everyone else, so really it shouldn't be a big deal to accept them for who they are at the end of the day.

I no longer do any Bug Hunting work for Cryptic. I may resume if a serious attempt to fix the game is made.

There is no way to tell your friend is mentally ill without dissecting them. So your friend could be an Android from the Andromeda Galaxy.

Actually, that would be vivisection if you want to do it while they're still alive.

Also, mental illness is a very serious concern, and it is not coincidence that psychiatric wards across the planet have hired professional translators who speak fluent klingon and elvish (Tolkien elvish). Some patients speak nothing but klingon or other fictional languages, and as silly as it sounds, language barriers exist no matter what the medium.

Fandoms attract those who feel out of place, who feel as if they do not belong to modern society. Traits that sometimes act as warning signs to mental illness or another type of disorder.

Mental illness is a struggle for millions of people. You can not always identify them, because you can't look into someone's brain. They may appear perfectly healthy and normal on the outside, but on the inside they might be a train wreck. They will try to hide that weakness from others sometimes.

But it is especially important around the holidays that everyone's friends and loved ones are cared for in both body and mind. The mind can not live without the body. The body can not live without the mind.

There are options for help out there, if you know where to look.

as long as im focused on my daily routine of basic mental functions then there is no problems, but i post my own conditions and what i know honestly, after years of internal instability, one thing that follows though because of these issues and being so isolated is a sense of arrogance, cant be helped as being a loner there isnt anyone else to back you up and help you out. sometimes its hard to keep out in the open and you just want to crawl back into that dark hole you enjoy so much, change is tough usually for any other person but for those with difficulties its a lot more harder depending and if there is anyone to help out.

never once had meds and its manged and has been for years now for the most part i hope, but still if any of what i wrote helps others understand what it is like inside the mind of a person who struggles with mental problems, then i hope it helps avoid problems at a later date.

I am "older" as well, and yes, we all face our various challenges.

Sometimes, in the context of fleets, relationships develop over time. These relationships can be as simple as being leveling buddies or PvP mates or the like, or can be considerably more complex. Over time, some of these people are likely to vent about something or other with which they have been dealing in the offline world. Having a "Meet and Greet" for guilds in MMOs at this or that event (such as a convention) is not unheard of, nor particularly unusual. I do not believe anything is wrong with such relationships, venting by persons in such relationships, or meeting in the offline world (although people in such situations do need to exercise discernment, caution, and discretion). I do understand, however, that some people would prefer to not be burdened with the challenges of others, for various reasons (some legitimate, others less so).

STO is a game, yes. It's also a Massively-Multiplayer game, meaning there are other people in the game with whom you can interact. How far you wish to take that interaction is certainly your own choice. If you don't want to go beyond the game into people's offline lives and challenges, that's certainly your prerogative. However, I ask you to remember that those others with whom you interact are people, and not simply pixels on a screen.

I grew up in a bipolar family. We are absolutely entertaining and so random... playing "Cards against Humanity" is absolutely gut-splitting.

We're pretty open, blunt and imaginative.

My dad and I are the only ones not bipolar, but sometimes I have those personality traits from the exposure. I think bipolar is perfectly normal.

everyone has something to contribute, if not, then willing to read and learn instead. this isnt an aa meeting, i dont know about those so i cant say if its even close to true or not. but making gamers aware that other gamers may have mental conditions and just asking for a bit of patience and understanding rather then flying right into insult mode could be the difference in the end. the truth is you have no idea who is behind the screen and just because we are all keyboard warriors doesnt mean we are all perfect.

in a similar position for female gamers and others finding out and then all the wolf whistles, rather sexist comments and insensitivity comes out to play.
