Come one XXXX (shall remain nameless)...why closing dissenting threads or any glimpse that signals disagreement from how this game is being run?
Are we de-evolving to a level of BIG Brother? Does one actually want to state that all is ROSY and marvelous here but have absolutely NO threads stating some of the TRUE feelings of the playerbase. Is this a new mandate to "close" down all threads that DON'T agree with Cryptic's management's view?
Disturbing trend being continued since DR launched from those who wish to silence public opinion here in the forums. Yes, I know this is a private company and Cryptic can do whatever they want with your freedom.
One can speak out if you do so without "insulting" others. Shouldn't that concept hold true still in any business practice since it owes it that much to their customers?
Threads like "I quit" were understood to be deemed "closed". Well I understand but still kind of baseless in their approach to do so. Some of us are not breaking any rules except to just state our opinions.
More disturbing trending since now more than before it seems that instead of closing down "individual" postings...whole threads being shut down.
Is this to give a false sense of..."nothing to see guys"...just move on or hide what the "real wounds" of the game are?
Just today (threads names...to remain in silence) 3 were shut down in less than 1 hr...dealing with some level of discord on management. Leaves a bad taste in one's mouth...remember that playerbase are smart and some dont like to be lead as sheeps
Management is still sending the wrong message here.
Can we at least add the list of "incendiary" terms to the forum "rules" since most of us dont know what those terms are. You cannot silence dissent or discord for those of us who disagree with how things are being run here.
If not at the very least add a rule that states:
NO COMPANY DISAGREEMENT ALLOWED IN FORUMS. Any perception of disagreement will be shut down
IMMEDIATELY.
Better to be honest and direct....instead of deception.
Not speaking for anyone but myself and the voices who are no longer here due to DR's disaster. Enough has been done that a vast number of friends and peers have abandoned this ship.
Treat folks like human beings not just a mere dollar signs. I stated this is a civil way and not FLAMING nor Trolling...been here long enough to see the de-volution of this MMO and hope still there is a chance for optimism to make it better.
Thanks!

NO FURTHER!!!!!
Outfight lies from the company, tyrannical nonsense censorship.. This is not a way to run a game that you want to thrive!!
To semiquote Picard again..
How many does it take??? How many censorships? how many lies? How many does it take before it becomes wrong?? 1? 10? 1000?
Sorry board community managers, as usual you get stuck in the middle of things.. but.. once more to semiquote Picard..
How many times was "I was just following orders" used to justify incorrect decisions?? You all can't tell me it doesn't feel wrong to try to silence people's opinions because it doesn't tow the company line?
These are truly sad days for this franchise.. truly truly sad days..
And this tripe is allowed to just roll on and on and on and on...
seriously, stop rewarding them for this sort of thing if you want to see it turn around.

Was there an explanation as to why, which rule it violated, etc?
I have served as a forum mod, "Community Team Leader" on another F2P gaming site, led a team of at least 6 mods and we were always clear about the rules, gave warnings before closing threads UNLESS it was a clear violation, at which point we would make a final comment to not only announce that the thread was being closed but why and link the specific rule in question we felt the thread or post had violated.
We rarely closed an entire thread for one "bad" post, usually editing said post with something similar to above.
There is no real power in being a forum mod, but there IS the appearance of power, and for some that is more than enough to begin corruption. I am not suggesting any of the mods here have suffered that - merely that it is possible.
If those two closed threads, what was the mods final post? Were any warnings given? Did they specify how any of the posts or the threads themselves violated the forum rules?
Is this truly a forum where, when it comes to the rules, they preach a do as I say not as I do attitude?
And I'm going to point out -- AGAIN -- that discussion of administrative actions is completely off the table.
For the lawyers out there, this is what the rules say about it:
As such, this thread is in violation of that principle and is being closed for THAT reason.
