1) You're confusing individual progress with team progress. Take BDA, for instance. I have learned, from my own observations, that it's better to spread out, and each take a side to work on. Does me no good, though, not one iota, when the rest of the team just blindly follows the others, and thus fail the mission. That is why BDA fails,
That and the times not enough disconnected ships spawn to get 15. Which is one reason why mandatory optionals was a bad idea.
Another being that having it blow for whatever reason several times and only getting 10 marks and a cooldown before you can try again is probably one of the things turning people off of the ques.
Humanity also has a history of helping each other. See, 'I remember needing tactics to beat eSTFs' too. It was a time when helpful folks posted instructive videos; and blaming someone was actually kinda justified, because they had so much uploaded material (video/guides) to come prepared.
Actually, there are a ton of guides and videos that will show how to get to 10k without much effort.
People either don't bother to do the research, or insist the game should cater to their special snowflakes.
And nowadays? Now we have you, suggesting we 'completely remove all feedback.' I sincerely hope people will find it in their heart to be a mite more social than that.
You misunderstood my post, probably because you removed the context.
I was responding to the guy who said they should disable logging so we can't parse. I'm pointing out that unless they remove all feedback so we can't see how much damage we do, people will still find ways to measure their DPS.
The examples I provided only display damage floaters with no indication of how much health enemies have, nor combat logs. In those cases people record themselves, then go frame by frame and count the damage floaters to get their DPS. They also calculate enemy health (which is only displayed as a bar) that way.

LOL, that has happened to me a few times. I thought it was just me missing something. :P Guess I should have known better.

It's real!
