In regards to the vessel, it may be a Tier 6 ship with a required component to complete a set. The CStore bundle or version will have all the bells and whistles to fully reap the benefits. So yeah, I honestly believe from here on out, all ships will be at a Tier 6 level, regardless if they are free or not.
Likely something developed in the Delta Quadrant (if by the time the anniversary hits, they're still trying to force people to play Delta Content). The previous anniversary event with the Dyson ships was (in my opinion) not very good. The ships were all fugly, and I'm thankful (to myself) that I didn't even consider buying any of them.
I have no further idea of what the next one might be. It's probably going to be T6 though, that's all but guaranteed now I'd think? Short of skins, or consoles, there's no point releasing anything lower than T6. I doubt we'll ever see a new T5/T5R ship, if we do ever see anything new, it'll be T1, T2, T3 or T4.
The Exeter and Excalibur are 25th century designs so why would they be obsolete while people are still using those rust bucket Galaxys.
For the same reason that the NX-class WASN'T serving as Akira class stand ins through FED history (size aside). Exterior configuration isn't everything (which is still wide of the point that without ANY canonical representation of the Constitution class after ST6 there's absolutely no basis to expect it in STO as a T5/6/7 and so on ship. Ever. Want its modern contemporary? Fly a Sovereign or Oddy. Simple as that.)

Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!

So you are saying that they just put a new looking exterior on an old ship instead of just building a new design with all the current tech that just looks similar to and is about the same size as an old design?
Going with the idea of a Rom/KDF reskin of a Federation-based ship, I could also expect a basic Typhoon Battleship, with a T6 3-pack bundle to follow (Tac, Eng, and Sci variants).
Clone copies for KDF and Rom result in some Deridex/Scimitar abomination (or a slightly less abominable Scimitar/Adapted Battlecruiser) and an even worse copy/edit/paste of several existing KDF ships in one design.
I still personally prefer T6 Flagships though.
Thinking back on it though, the Flagships and the Dysons both share the same general Boff setups across all 3 factions, so the idea isn't without merit.
im petty sure i read somewhere that the typhoon was a kitbash of different models in STO. the pylons are from a sovereign variant (can remember the name) and i believe the engineering section is from an intrepid variation. also the nacelles are twins of one of the Prometheus variant nacelles. just sayin.
"sometimes the greatest ideas come from the biggest mistakes."
(unless it's Cryptic.)
Only thing they might be able to sell me at this point is a T6 Typhoon.
Unless they go bat #$%^ crazy and release a T6 version of the Scimitar. I might buy that just so I can one shot kill everything on the screen with one tap of the space bar.
My hope is a T6 Raider for the KDF, a T6 Science Ship for the Romulans, and a big phat 0 for Federation.
So you want the Vengeance? That thing has a gigantic holey saucer.
Or did you meant the silly Nebula? Which is also a big phat 0 with nacelles?
Because you clearly can't meant nothing for Feds; when all Cryptic cares about is making money off Feds, and the game being pretty much Fed (some missions still even have copy/paste errors for KDF and Roms; being called Feds by NPCs), and most of the remaining players are still Fed.
Deliberate obtuseness aside, I really doubt they'd go into 3 different exclusive ship classes when they can just come up with a common theme and Boff Loadout, and just give them 3 different visuals and weapon loadouts (Dyson and Flagship sets both being identical Boff-wise and theme-wise across all 3 factions; maybe console-wise as well).
How about the Keldon? You know, the Improved Galor? It would make a nice T5 ship for the Anniversary Event.
*Ship can be Multi faction.
*Players like the Galor, so a version which is better should be equally popular.
*Spiral Wave weapons may just be the coolest in the whole game.
*Even Cardassians deserve to feel the love eventually.
*Model and textures are already in game, thus making it easy to repurpose.
* Because of the above: Dev team only required to flesh out one ship and one new Console-based weapon.
This should be well within their somewhat limited capabilities.
(Laydees an' Gennelmens of da jury, I present the few parts pf Delta Rising which work and are bug free
as evidence of said, ahem, "somewhat limited capabilities". Just sayin' )
*The T6 version of the ship could be placed as a Bonus Item inside whatever Z Store purchase makes pwe/cryptic the most money currently.
That's all I got.
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.
I'd say a T6 sci something because the KDF and Roms need a dedicated T6 sci ship that isn't a carrier, and a sciency starship mastery trait for all factions is also needed. Problem is last years grandaversry was a science ship and the new winter ship is a carrier. =\
So I don't know, maybe something to do with the cannon broadsider Geko likes to talk about every so often.
Back when all the speculation about what was going to be in this latest Lockbox was going on, the question of which MU ship would be the "consolation prize" ship. Turns out it wasn't a MU ship at all, but hey...
Anyways, I was thinking at the time it'd be a T5 MU ship, perhaps one of the Dreadnaughts to come through the last rift. The fact was brought up that having such ships available on the exchange would hurt C-Store sales, thus wouldn't happen. Making the ships an Event Reward, thus BOP, would solve that, so my speculation, my wish for the Anniversary Event:
The event itself will be Mirror Universe themed, we'll interact with the MU version of some MU TV series character (It was let slip there was a TV show/voiceover actor already lined up for the event), and the Reward Ship will be a MU T6 Oddy, or to really dream big, Gal-X. Of course, like all MU ships, the opportunity to shift the seating around would be the chance to make the ship truly OP.
I can dream.

speculating on the anniversary ship is difficult as will be the summer event ship, unlike the winter ships that have stuck to breen ships so quite easy to predict, the anniversary has not so pretty hard to make a guess, likewise the summer event apart from the fact they are leisure based ships they seem to be completely new to the game so just as difficult to predict.
the only thing I am guessing is that they will be T6 as I cant see the devs going backwards to T5 but if they are T5 they will come with a free T5u upgrade.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

There's no reason to go backwards to T5 for a new ship; esp. not if they're hoping to at least pull back some players temporarily just to make metrics look good.
As to speculation, it's not too hard; the past Anniversary ships share a common Boff loadout between them, and a common theme (Flagship and Dyson), and usually have a distinct visual link to their respective faction.
With that in mind, the easiest choice Cryptic could do is T6 Flagships. They're pretty popular and still sell (esp. Scimitars). And they could just update the bundles and grandfather existing owners to T6.
Another easy choice is just a new Delta Rising-themed Science ship; probably a Destroyer (less Dyson and more battle Voyager), with alternate Rom and KDF skins. It would also provide a science ship for the latter two (even if it's not the way they wanted; much like how the Dyson Destroyers are also high level faction-specific Sci ships), while just reusing Intrepid skins and providing an alternate combat-oriented Voyager for Feds. As well as another chance to later offer the Intrepid Bridge + Interior with the inevitable C-store version.
A third possible choice is an actual new ship. Given that it's usually planned for Feds first and just given either a different console loadout or weapon loadout between Factions, we could expect a possible Jupiter (dreadnought) or Typhoon (battleship), with original designs for Rom and KDF. If the Vaadwaur Cannon broadside ship is a possible Lockbox ship; it wouldn't be surprising to offer up a proper Faction-themed ship with a similar gimmick (such as a broadsider Jupiter dreadnought and it's KDF and Rom equivalents).
It's less likely we'd see any ships that do not have any actual faction-element and tie-in to Delta Rising as an Anniversary ship.
Think of the faction ships from Voyager, for fed there was both the Equinox and the Rhode Island, Klingon had the Neg's and that old Battle crusier a D-7 look in the later season, and the Romulans had the science ship from at the beginning with the Micro wormhole. That would be my guess
Well the one thing that has been consistent with the anniversary ships is that they're factional. So I doubt it'd be a Vaadwaur or Malon vessel. Aside from that? yeah, no idea.
Don know if has been mentioned yet, but i think that could be a t6 version of Odysey and Bortasqu, and of course a Scimitar.
That could be a way to revamp the Bortas and make antoher tier of clasic ships like the Ody and Scimitar, not athat we need them, but you know what they say. Build it and they buy.
