Thank you for the game I have come to love.
Thank you for continuing to develop and improve STO.
Thank you for fixing the small things like the Romulan BOFF character customization.
Everyone has an opinion about what is good and what is bad for STO. Most of the time you only here about the bad. I just wanted to say thank you for making Star Trek Online awesome.

Me too. I'm not joking. What game is he playing? I really want to know. It must be that good version of STO only the devs and a select few get to play. I always wondered why it seemed like the players and devs are playing two different games...
Personally I'm still playing with the hope that they (at both cryptic and pwe) manage to pull their collective heads from their nethers and realize many many people do not like what they are doing to the game (like the massive monetizations, and excessive gambling), and stop trying to force our wallets. Seriously it's starting to feel more like a mugging simulator than a scifi game.

Has DR even been out for a month? The spec system is not something that is meant to be done over a weekend.
Why do you think he is on the forum instead of grinding dilithium like he is supposed to?
If by 'fix' you mean that my newly bald ROM officers are a feature , then yes, I consider them "fixed" .
... and for Cryptic's next trick , we'll need a live volunteer ... . Anyone ? Anyone with a large bank account ??

I'm currently spending way more time in the forum than ingame. And when I play, I'm only doing the winter race for the ship. Alongside the winter doffing. Why ? Because I hope they'll improve the game, and when they do that, I want to be there with the breen ship.
Other than that, I'm not playing. My engineer is lvl 58, and I haven't done any DR quest with my fed tac (lvl60 thanks to tau dewa before the nerf). Not going to play them until they fix the mess they've done.
Also, he never said he hated the game. Just saying. Someone jumped to the conclusion.
I would be totally fine with that. I've played other games with "alternative advancement" or whatever you call them. Unfortunately, considering the XP earned during endgame content (queued STF, battlezone...) is so incredibly low, if any (Dyson BZ quests doesn't even award xp), I'm not holding my breath.
With 2k xp/STF, you'll need more than a lot to even make a single point. I hope your kids are ready to continue your legacy.
Trust me, I want to earn those point doing the endgame content. Not grinding Argala (something I'm not doing either). But Argala is probably the only thing that can make completing the spec tree something you can do in your lifetime.
And you know the fun part ? They are going to add more spec. Yeah... good luck.

I guess my past few years of playing this game (since the day it went F2P) don't count, hey? 'Cause nothing here has run me off, I tell you what. Haven't spent any money, either - I'm a lousy freeloader, the closest I've come to spending was when I gathered up my Dil, bought some Zen, and picked up the T1 Connie.
So when you pulled the "No True Scotsman" thing right at the start of your post, I knew I could safely ignore the rest.
Any Devs who actually played this game left or were forced to leave...just think about Heretic or BranFlakes. :rolleyes:

Plus, he knew the game (gameplay wise) very well and was therefore able to give some direct feedback and suggestions to the coders. He was in contact with a lot of players and knew what the people wanted.
Atm, STO is lacking a connection between Devs and Players resulting in Devs that believe DR is the best expansion ever...
The single thing they did to kill this game was the insane Dilithium costs of upgrading...
This. The end result of poor planning, minimal testing, and applying changes to an ecosystem as if it's a recipe for success by people who clearly don't play the game.
Paying players - myself included - have dropped a fortune to upgrade our ships and gear. Now that we have, many of the players we used to enjoy the game with have left.
The good players have formed private queues. Everyone else is left to scrape up whats left.
While Cryptic may be celebrating a fiscally good quarter at least for STO, it makes me wonder what they will have to do to maintain that growth for the quarters to come if the player base doesn't grow.
