Starter quest Assimilation of the Innocent broken?

I am doing a new toon for my kid, however the quest seems to be broken. It will not move to the next stage saying I still need to kill Borg One Zero and Cohorts, however there is no borg left. All enemy have been killed yet it will not move to next stage. I cannot drop the quest and restart because it is a starter quest. I just cant seem to get it to move to the next step of the quest.

    If I remember correctly, if you leave the map to sector space and wait ~15 minutes, the quest should reset.
