I think it's the anniversary event where that happens.

You need to remember what is said one season is completely disconnected the next in STO, there is no long term game plan, they just make it all up all over again, look at the Dyson sphere where the voth control space zone magically became undine, and the accolades didn't work, oops
So we were told Club 47 was being revamped partly because Q would be in there during special events.
Well, lo and behold, he isn't in there, he's by the big Federation symbol outside the bank.
Ah well.
I don't remember anyone but me saying that was why they did it, and that was my personal guess. In fact, when asked (I think in the Priority One interview) Tacofangs specifically said that wasn't where Q would be.

Club 47 was being revamped because ESD was totally redone. o_O I'd like to see where you heard, saw that it was because Q would be there during special events...

ESD got revamped, players were actually asking about Club 47 all the time. They revamped it. Taco mentioned it is supposed to be a nice place for official and unofficial gatherings. What is the problem with that ?
Personal tastes or priorities are not valid arguments against something. For everyone who likes an aspect of the game, there is someone who dislikes it.
the one thing that gets me is that they put something that really has no purpose , but when the players ask for something else there told if it serves no purpose no reason to spend time on it .
i see no difference between club 47 and say revamping ship interiors . the Q trigger can be placed anywhere on ESD . so in all reality they waste money and time on things that serve no purpose for us but make there new spacemall look better in Promo shots .
it looks nice but the dev team seems to be very hypocritical on the reasons they do X over Y . when there is no difference on what to do at X or Y .

Indeed, and if someone decided to remove every single element of STO that someone didn't like somewhere... this would be how the game would be....
I think social zones are important, but where and how they happen are the result of a range of circumstances and not simply "designed"...
First, they depend on the players in the area being 'social'... obviously
Second, the zone needs to not be in a battle mode, or too "mission-related"
Third, it's almost always ground
Fourth, the zone needs to be "not too big"
The first three are fairly obvious, but the fourth one isn't until you consider the areas that did become social (and lost that sociability). Drozana pre-redesign, Quark's, the old Club 47 to an extent. Drozana as a social hub lost that feeling when the new zone came into being. Quark's maintains it. The thing here is both the size of the space, and how that space is related to outsize spaces. So the old Club 47 never quite achieved it because it was connected in zone-chat to the whole starbase making it difficult to have a purely social conversation (though it did benefit from being visible, so if people were in there dancing, people could see it going past).
Quark's maintains the social feel, I think because it is both small (read: intimate) as a space, and disconnected from the hustle and bustle of DS9. Drozana lost it when it got redesigned into a much bigger space (and the mission elements became more pronounced). Club 47 which sort of had it is now both too big as a space in its own right, still connected to the Starbase chat making it much less a dedicated social zone, and loses the "walk ins" as well.

Uh. . . I never said anything about Q being there.
The club was readded because it was intended to be there originally, can be used by players for meetings/rp, and serves as an event space in the future.
Q was never intended/said to go there for the Winter Event.

What are these "events" you talk about?
-Bar fights?
-Poker?
-Bar fights and poker?
And what is wrong with putting something back, greatly improved, that was removed during the ESD revamp?
The answer is 'nothing'.
Seriously people. I know that folks are unhappy with Delta Rising. Hell, there are somethings about DR that I'm dissatisfied with. But that's no reason to gripe just to be griping.
they revamped the club because obviously feds spend more time in the club than all rom and kdf players do in their ships, making it a major priority to get the club going.
I really don't have any use for Club 47. It looks nice but that is about it. Now.. add in some Dabo or a brawl here and there (after all the PA is always sending security to the club!) then yeah.. good times. ;-)

Im Romulan. You cant pay me to those Feds Tron Club 47.
My KDF will never be there to keep her dignity and honor.
As my Fed, give me something useful like a Utopia Shipyard Starbase without Club 47 with Doff NPC for special engineering upgrades.
While I'm not really playing much any more (its looking like I'm not going to be doing the winter event for the first time EVER), how is anyone able to find a complaint with a nice little social area being readded like it was always planned on being, but infinitely better than it ever was before?

That's my idea on it anyway.
