    From the notes.

Dyson Sphere Battle Zone: Re-balanced how player's scores are calculated for open missions.
Previously, missions were being too generous with points for tasks that were not critical to missions and too penalizing on tasks that were critical for missions.

Really? It states marks? Sure you will still recieve the same amoubt of dil per dino tagged plus bonus for all three?

Yep, I'm waiting til the patch but going by the recent track record I can't see this being a net gain for the player.

Yes that does look interesting doesn't it, I can't help feeling a little sceptical about SC though, however I understand various components of the game are now playable? Time to visit their webby again.

Yep. I've been watching some streams lately and space combat is very impressive. I'm sceptical too thats why i'm not gonna spend much but at least theres hope that the game will be actually good. Theres only Arena Commander available atm which is just a combat sim in a limited space and a few ships. They plan to add all of the single pilot ships this month but prolly it will take more time than they say.

It says Points... which isn't either. My guess would be is they have made it work the same way Undine space works...where to get the big marks off the 3 big ships you have to have "scored" X number of points capturing the zone first to cash in. So tagging will reward a very small amount but working to complete the zone will rewards the same (perhaps) as now, may also be less anyway. Stealth nerfs is Cryptics Mo.

Like most things they do they word it so that most will read it and go ok... "points" if they specified that the amount of D and Marks you earned would be based on the nuimber of zones you helped flip first people would scream... worded as it was quite on purpose I'm sure.

    Hilarious

Well you are definitely proving all the whale theories 100% correct.

The thing is, it's not so much the amount of cash but rather how it's being used to up-vote everything cryptic has done over the past 2 years of deleting and nerfing everything.

You people should have acted years ago.

So now you are only going to spend 300$ a month instead of 500$ because you are upset with cryptic!!1

Personally I'll be spending absolutely no money at all on this game. I didn't actually realise how much I WAS spending until I stopped spending it, crazy as it sounds.

So your going to go from thowing away money to burning it ?

Don't do that. Go play EvE or Elite Dangerous... or something none star ship like Rift or something.

You and I need to have a long discussion about Star Citizen and it's build ;)
    Chris Robert's on SC:
"You don't have to do something again and again and again repetitive that doesn't have much challange, that's just a general good gameplay thing."

    1. why should we? last year was quite fun
    2. don't know about the other whales, but mine will go down from 300$ to +-0 starting january.
    3. I am not upset. I do a clean calculation: how much fun is the game per € spent. As soon as the fun per € spent-ratio drops below a certain threshold, i stop p(l)aying. If it will rise above it, i will resume p(l)aying.

If a “whale” cuts back from 500$ down to 300$, if the “I hardly spend a dime on a game” cuts back from 5$ to 0$ and if the “perfect rationalists” who claims to know what a rational input on a videogame in correlation of his monthly income should be cuts back by 67,456% because the game suddenly only delivers fun in that magnitude the message to Cryptic is all the same.

Free drops on STF, console fabrication, doff upgrinder, mirror event, tour the galaxy, reputation passives, carrier nerf, colonization chains, vendor trash...

.. and now finally exp too.

That pretty much covers a complete deletion of the entire game doesn't it?

And it happened on YOUR watch, you bank-rolled it.

Not going to hate on you and point the finger but I want you to know what you did.

@free drops: irrelevant. best equipment is from reputation system
@console fabrication: irrelevant. best consoles come from fleet mine/spire/embassy holding
@doff upgrinder: irrelevant. best doffs come from doffing/lockboxes
@mirror event: my personal opinion here: too much exp in too short time, nerf was overdue.
@tour the galaxy: too much EC in too short time, nerf was overdue.
@reputation passives: you can squeeze enough nice stuff in the four slots - you dont need everything anytime. btw. this closes a bit the gap between a fresh level 50 and one with full reputations
@carrier nerf: carriers are good enough without boosted pets (and they were "nerfed" back to their orignal values
@colonization chains: still available - you have more than enough chains to complete and you will get free doffs afterwards
@vendor trash: this one is debatable, ...

...but nothing compared to the main problem of this game:

Mobs are cheating HP-balloons who activate their abilities by RNG. The game is about wearing down them - the faster, the better. It was "ok" the last years, but now the wear-down time was artificially multiplied, which means that my fun/€ ratio, which is more precisely: fun / (time*€) is dropping (since the time needed to "accomplish" something is higher ).

Yes you were wrong. You've been wrong the whole time and you are still wrong.

Wrong that "the game turned into...", no it didn't magically happen to go that way.

You paid the road we are on and I said it's okay I get the addiction part of your problems - not being able to handle or restrain yourself, like you said having no reflection actions, and, I am not out to hate on you or any other whale.

That is afterall what a whale is - a sucker with money, no offense

However there is a responsibility there and it's everyone's fault who paid them, the people paying more obviously have a larger share in the stock of wrong-doing.

What you are trying now is 2 years too late, you failed to maintain the game and your selfish perspective, narrow-minded perspective, is now back to bite

    Hey Matt,

All I can say is what took you so long?

Once my fleet started dissecting the tribble notes on DR we knew the game had just snowballed over a cliff.

I stopped spending money on this game before DR as did many friends who have either quit or only log in to chat.

Yeah, likewise. I had a read through of the patch notes before DR and came onto the forums stating that everything was about to be nerfed into oblivion & the game was going to be boring.

I got called a troll for my troubles, but it's always nice to be right after all.

    Tired of spending?

Try Guild Wars 2. Buy the MMORPG game once play free forever. It is not a pay to win game, less grinding, and one of the best combat systems I have ever seen. STO could lean a lesson or two from them.

Don't take it personally, I am talking about whale mentality in general and not really about you, even though obviously you are a picture perfect case study of a whale.

You may have floated the titanic though right?

But yeah now you know what we've been fighting for 2½ years straight and how it has been us trying to fight all the deleting and killing everything.
