So, if what I'm reading is right, Crafted Warp Cores don't get the AMP mod at Ultra Rare?
I am unsure. If anyone has more experience with upgrading crafted Cores I would like to hear about it. I have upgraded a crafted Deuterium core and it did not gain a modifier (I logged a bug on it). Beyond that I do not have any experience with upgrading crafted cores.
Just did it on Tribble, the Omega Force Personal Shield gets [Ene], which is the mod that gives a chance for +10% energy damage when you take damage. Omega Force Antiproton Autocarbine gets [DMG].
Also, the Adapted KHG should have the same mods as regular MACO, and the Adapted MACO should have the same mods as regular KHG, as they are mirrors of each other for the opposite faction.

Thanks for the information, the list has been updated. The mirroring is a reasonable assumption, but until we have confirmation we'll leave them unknown.

As far as I know that is mostly correct. There is one other tidbit. He's CBoP, so if you are lucky enough to get him you can't sell him....
I don't understand why but that's how it works. On the up side he does not come directly from the lockbox, there's some sort of reward pack he comes in. But you have a random draw of purple doffs out of the reward pack. Drolid, Mokrimo, etc... or maybe Prof Hawk.

The [EWS] adds: 1% chance when hit with energy weapons to grant +10 Weapon Power to the Core.

I have to say, I'm *REALLY* hoping it's [AMP]. That seems to be the one single best tag possible, and I don't want to change cores on the toon that flies this ship, as the whole build is strictly theme-based (Liberate Borg Romulan Captain, flying a Tal Shiar borg ship-type thing, all borg gear, borg BOffs, etc., you get the picture). Anyway, would love to be able to keep the theme AND improve the DPS of the ship (which actually does decently at 15-20k).

My Chroniton Beam Array received a [CrtD] mod on going purple (guess it was added later), so the [Dmg] mod listed for it might be inaccurate.
I'm going to Tribble to test what an upgrade to Ultra Rare quality will bring: It got an extra [Acc] mod. (edit)
A few times, when upgrading a [Phaser Relay lvl XIV] and [Plasma Infuser lvl XIV] and after gaining enough point and applying the upgrade it'll finish immediately and remain in the same status!!!
Just to confirm, the Adapted M.A.C.O. Covariant Shield Array gets a Ap mod (Reduce Antiproton damage to Shields by 20%) when upgraded to Ultra Rare, like its counterpart, the Klingon Honor Guard Covariant Shield Array

All Aegis requires either Gumarre or the nearly mythical Prof. Jefferson Hawk from the old Xindi lockbox, both character bind on pickup. You have a slim chance of getting Gumarre through the Requisition R&D Assistance assignment at your faction's Academy.
I find the R&D crafting system for beams very daunting. On more than one occasion I have had to craft 80+ beams to get the mods I want. This is the only game I have ever played that crafting results were a gamble with no player control what so ever. Unless I am missing something that is.

You're not missing anything. Crafted mod combos are a complete gamble.
This is sad...to have this much Information about basic crafting and the truth is, the random chance on all Mods/stats is what really makes this system so bad. It ould be one thing if we could just remove a MOD/Stat from an Item we made (destroying the item while doing this) and being allowed to place that MOD/Stat over another one we do not like on a crafted item. That or fix this system as it feels like being at the Doctor's office for hours when I try to make anythng worth while. I can truly say I think the R&D system is terrible now.
How do start r&d on xb1? Seems like there should have been a tutorial or at least a quick mission brief. At level 17 which from what I've read it opens up at 15
